Alternator?

Does anyone know what current the alternator produces? I was thinking about installing a larger system, and was wondering if I would need to get this replaced during the install.
Also, has anyone been able to find a good drycell battery that fits in the stock location? Optima does not make any smaller sized batteries.

Optima does make a battery for our cars now, check this link:

As for the alternator, I believe it is 80 amps, and I am running a 1000 watt Phoenix Gold amp for my bass without any problems. The only addition I have done to this point is a 2 farad capacitor.
