Bonus Pic

I took pictures of the blue kit as it would show contrast on the white car. The kit was just placed on the car, so mounting may be straighter, better when properly installed. It fits all USDM EP3's, but as for getting it in the US, I am not sure. Here is the last pic.

You Brits are spoiled...over the type-r kit??? j/k :D I like how the front splits the grill into three parts. Really subtle but makes it look sportier. Kinda like the differences between the 96-98 and 99-00 civics. The rear looks like ass though...too low. Too big and the blacked out area reminds me of a catfish when looking directly behind.

It's funny, everyone loves the kit now...before, it was ewwww! I think the kit looks okay, I really don't like the rear, from the full view I saw of the white one.

The front looks good at certain angles...maybe if I saw it in person I'd like it more.

so true, and it will already be painted.

i like the looks of the kit, but i dont like how it looks tacked on... i think they should have made full bumper covers with the tops like stock and the bottoms using from the crease down of the kit. surgery at the red lines sort of...

http://sourcecodegeeks.com/public/civic/images/coversurgery.jpg

maybe some aftermarket company can hack that together... hopefully in urethane...

maybe someone here with chopping skills can do it, too...

how much for the wing and skirts?

Mugen Power
07-03-2003, 08:28 AM
Yeah, I remember when EVERYONE was hating on that kit when pics of it were posted from that show.

I think it looks nice but I have to agree that it looks kinda bad cuz of the tacked on look. I wouldn't have minded a lower lip-type deal that doesn't extend so far up...

i can't say i'd buy that kit... the way the lip of it matches up to the front and rear bumpter look unfinished and low quality. I have to say i'm pretty disappointed... i was looking forward to a nice quality fp kit from honda. why couldn't they just make something that looks pretty much identical to the type-r lips? guess i'll just keep waiting for a decent lip kit to come out... if it ever happens... :(

on a side note, however... i would DEFINITELY buy a set of the 16" FP wheels in gunmetal or white, if they become available. :D

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news... but the kits are going to be allocated, meaning they are coming with the car only and are not for sale independantley. Hopefully this will change in a couple months or so. I spoke with my parts guy and he said that they could arrange a deal with some one who was buying the car and didnt want the kit, acting in sorts as a broker. Give it time...

Ok, so I called a couple Honda dealers in windsor to see what I could find out and nobody seems to know anything about a lip kit for the Si. What I find most interesting about this is that honda.ca (http://www.honda.ca/Personalise/HondaEng/Models/carconfig/carconfig.asp?ModelName=CivicSiR&c=993333&yr=2003) shows a Special GFX Edition for the Si at no additional charge as an option for the 2003 SiR. Thanks for do that.

I wish it would just blend better into the body but I guess that can not be done because it is not a full bumper. I like the kit because I can keep my OEM fog lights but unless I could find a way for a better blend the kit I would be happy. I guess since then I would have to wait for painting I would just do a buddy club kit.

Just wondering is the kit fiberglass or poly?

i think it's okay looking. the wing is the nicest thing about the kit (is it the same as the ctr wing?).

the side skirts are kinda ugly, only because they come higher up onto the fender than the ctr ones. it sorta almost looks like it needs fender flares to connect the skirts to the bumper. i think i would need to see it in person...

the front bumper is ugly period... they should've made a lip instead...

the rear is decent...

decided to photoshop the front lip since my ep's white too & wanted to see how it was like... doesnt match that well but it was only 5-10 mins of work :(

my pc is not photoshop equipped. Can some one please photoshop this kit in black on the car. Im having the bodyshop spray my spoiler black while their fixing the rest of my car. Ow by they way my insurance estimate was $6,100. I went back to the crash site and found that I has hit a tree, bush, pole and drove along a fence. Paradas are pretty good when there full tread and warm and sticky...but no tread and cold tires on a cold night=$6,100 greenbacks!...

no it's not...

Honda is actually making this kit exclusively available to the canadian market only...

they had to do something with all the ugly ass kit's they made, so to get rid of them, they're hooking up the canadians and their SIR's with them...

they thought twice about giving us that ugly kit, so it looks like we're getting the CTR kit with 17" wheels.

Could somebody please take a second and explain to me all the craziness over the Canadian GFX/FP kit?

Is it just the looks, or what?

The EP3 USDM bodywork is completely stable at 120 miles per hour, and that's about all you're going to get out of the stock motor.

i'm with you. i like the looks of the ep stock (except for the dainty looking rear wing). it seems to perform well enough at the autocross. extra stuff hanging off the sides and front will only hit the cones easier.

I own an EP3 as my daily driver.

There's not much left to do w/the ITR w/out getting into the Stupid Zone as far as dollars per horsepower go, so the EP3 is becoming a prime candidate for modification.

Type S swaybars front and rear.

I like the rates of the new Mugen suspension, and I might give that a try.

The kit will go to the US. It is a dead give a way because its not being offered in Red here in Canada. Since red EP's are not offered in the US and there isnt very many Red ones in Canada they wouldnt mass produce Red Kits. Think about it and it makes perfect sense.
