What happens to chrome exhaust when muffler wears out?

I love the way the chrome exhaust tips look, but what happens when the muffler eventually needs to be replaced? Can the chrome tips be removed and reattached to the new muffler?

it can be hacked off and rewelded to the new muffler... but it'll look like shit
and why would you want to reuse an old, scratched up, dingy tip?
when most muffler shops throw in a nice shiny tip with the cost of a new muffler...?

I didn't know those were generic chrome tips, I thought they were made by Honda.

SLHONDAPARTS.COM does not list it as a seperate part like they do for example the s2000. So I would think if you bought a new OEM muffler it would come with new tips.
