Nice kit..., the side skirts and WING are excellent!!! I just wana see the whole car, with a drop and some rims to complete the overall look. I think its got nice appeal, but it would be a great alternative if someone doesnt want the Type R kit...But it all depends on the price...Price can make all the diffrence.....I wana get a kit (pref BC KIT) with Buddy Club Rims, (just gotta sell my AEM CAI my sig has link), but this kit is nice tho, great alternative from the BC kit and Type R, not to loud and not to lame...Just good enough! plus u dont have to remove anything...(correct me if im wrong)...

:) :)

07-04-2003, 06:08 PM
hey bmx, how do the side skirts stay on, if you know?

bmx269
07-04-2003, 06:12 PM
The skirts are attached to the bottom, and the front wheel well with screws. the part that touches the side of the car is double sided taped on.

I will go back to the dealer and take pictures of the underside if you want.

Wow, I am completely dissapointed. I think it looks awful. I mean completely awful!

The fit and finish is great, but I am just not into the looks at all. The Type R kit has much better proportions if you ask me.

Too bad, I was looking forward to a factory kit.

I dunno, i think we should give it a chance, lets see more pics of it on the road....And a little far away...

I have to agree the only thing I would want out of the kit is the wing. The body molding is just to harsh at were it meets up with the body. If it just blended better I would be at my dealer telling them to order me one. The most I would pay for that kit is about $500 since it is all ready painted. I just hope the wing is not that bad in price.

ill take the wing. the rest looks horrible.. honda oem ground fx shouldn't look all complicated like that. it should be simple and sweet. anyways.. the ep was made to have a nice smooth, round contour look.. that kit just puts it back a few yrs..

blackyEP3
07-04-2003, 07:07 PM
It makes the EP too square looking, if anything, I'd just get the wing and the side skirts!

TrippZ
07-04-2003, 07:18 PM
yeah i'd give around 500 or 600. it doesnt flow too well the front. If they offered to mold it and what not, I'd give around $1000.

for some strange reason, it reminds me of the 00 ITr's

i'm only interested in the wing from this kit... i'll go with jdm skirts since these are so ugly. i don't like how they look. why? they just don't look right (the front comes up too high and makes the lines of the car un-even), and they don't blend in to the door well, see pic 13... i can do without the front, stock is just fine, maybe i'll have my bumper lenses patched up... same for the rear, a patch up of the bumper lenses...

nice try honda... but try again... get it right next time!

SinisterCivicSi
07-04-2003, 08:09 PM
you know what, the more i look at that kit, the more i dont like it. its got too many seams for me.....looks like the fit isnt that great...i like the type r better.

the wing is nice though~

take note on the areas higlighted... see how the ctr skirts line up nicely with the line of the car... why couldn't they just use the same ones???

i dont like at all.... besides the wing

07-04-2003, 08:47 PM
YUCCCCCCCCCCCCCCKK!!!! Thats the worst looking body kit I've ever seen!!!! Comes up way to far for a lip kit and sticks out! The fitment of the side skirts is horrible for an OEM piece.

It is nice to be able to get the type-r spoiler from your honda dealer, but the price will be crazy I bet.

anjapower
07-04-2003, 09:11 PM
looks like pure shit. possibly the worst factory body kit EVER.

Loudpedal
07-04-2003, 09:39 PM
The rear wing and side skirts look good, but the front and rear are pretty amateur looking. Having said that, I'll reserve judgement till I see the peices on a black car. Perhaps that will make the gaps less obvious.

SinisterCivicSi
07-04-2003, 10:15 PM
you might have a point there on the black ep's might be able to look pretty good.....time will tell. wonder why the gaps look so huge ....

07-04-2003, 10:20 PM
ill take the wing...but ill have to stick with a CTR kit...due to the CTR wing and this one looking very much alike...so i might as well save some money where i can

SiR Medic
07-05-2003, 04:28 AM
Well, all I want out of the deal is the wing. Hopefully it can be ordered for a decent price...

I actually like the kit as a general design, but the fit of it seem way off!

I don't like body kits that much anyway. After my '95 Pontiac Grand Prix, it's nice to have a car without all that heavy cladding!;)

r3p00c
07-05-2003, 06:16 AM
wow, i REALLY don't like the kit even more now. it looks horrible, the way it fits to the body? and look at that wheel gap! they should have at least marketed it as a FP kit, with springs and wheels. instead of raising the appeal and selling more eps, i think they're just going to worsen it by adding this kit to them.

02SilverSiHB
07-05-2003, 08:06 AM
and even after rims and a drop I still don't like it too much

Actually, I have the APC kit and it looks and fits great. I get tons of compliments on my car and my kit doesn't look like Honda hired some Pontiac reject to make it. This kit is bad!! The smooth lines and flowing curves of the ep are killed by this tac on Fischer Price body cladding. The wing is nice though.

It'll just make my car look better :D

Didn't bmx post the kit uninstalled just a couple days ago?

Maybe the kit wasn't installed properly and someone just snapped it on?

i still think the type r kit looks soo much better

bmx269
07-05-2003, 10:43 AM
There are NO GAPS in the kit, there is a rubber trim that goes around the whole thing, if it were on my car, first thing that would go is the trim.

bmx269
07-05-2003, 10:53 AM
Look at the gap. it is a rubber seal.

Wouldnt it look weird without that? and also if you do remove that be careful because it may come back to haunt you in acouple years when water sits around in places it shouldnt be...

hmmm. I will have to see that in person. But yea why is the rubber stripping there? is it for water protection?

But that is a major go on the wing. Dones ne one have a pic of the 2 wings(Stock VS Honda kit??):D

SmoothOperator
07-05-2003, 01:18 PM
I noticed the weather stripping when I saw the kit at the Toronto International Auto Show. It made the fitment look a little out of whack.
I'd much rather have the D3 kit over this though. And considering I already have a wing, I'll pass on the OEM one too. The break light in the wing looks kinda funny. Almost like it's an oval shape.

I'm not exactly sure why that rubber stripping is there, but it appears to be something new Honda is doing with their kits. Here's a couple pics of my 01 LX. The side skirts are from the 03 Honda Aero Kit, and they have that rubber stripping as well. It didn't look that bad to me.

Kit sits up too high on the stock bumpers. Also, why does the paint on the kit not match the body at all?
Wing looks good.......front and rear not so much.

EPTree
07-05-2003, 08:26 PM
Wing and sideskirts look good at least. I don't how the bumpers don't look molded....kinda like an afterthought. And it's just not inspiring like the bc3 or type-r kit. Maybe I just need to see it with a drop, tho.

I'm disgusted. The wing is okay, everything else is a big disappointment.

07-05-2003, 10:23 PM
it looks alright

StrangeShadow
07-05-2003, 11:46 PM
The front and back look like the square kits I see on the riced out 'old' 91'(and down) hatch'. Thought the sides and wing looked desent but probably because they remind me of the
type-r.

Finger
07-06-2003, 11:09 AM
It needs wheels!!!!!! 16 or 17 inches from Honda, and decent tires. I don't understand why they would prefer to give an ugly kit instead of wheels.

First up, a HUGE thanks to bmx269 for taking the time and effort to do this for the rest of us.

 :D

I really don't think it looks that bad. After seeing the chopped pics with drop and rims it's growing on me. If it's available at a decent price I would probably get it. Does anyone have any idea on how much we're looking at price wise?

Nice work bmx!!! (on here and K-series)

Honda should have optional 14" rims with that kit. Then it would look even sweeter. Just ghey...

this factory spoiler, is it a replica of the type-r or a replica of the mugen spoiler?

the OEM wing looks alittle smaller than the CTR wing to me somehow... or is it just me? any one know?

If it's not identical, it's pretty damn close to the Type-R wing.

wing is nice, but the rest is really gross the sideskirts are ok, but to me that front bumper is simply hideous

Silvershadow
07-06-2003, 11:55 PM
This kit is basically the Mugen Prototype Si w/o the wheel well flares ,carbon fiber and center exhuast that's been on the car show circuit. It's a cheaper looking copy especially with the cut out for the Si exh.tips and a less refine look than the CTR.The Honda CTR rear spoiler cost around $700 so I doubt the kit will be $500.$2,OOO is more likely. The rubber moulding is probably for noise and paint wear.IMO they designed it too thick looking that's why most of you don't like it and has that iron clad look.

First of all, alot of thanks to BMX for all this effort, if you ever come down here in Santa monica, give me a PM, I'll buy you a drink.:D

The kit is quite ugly. It totally destroys the flow of the lines in the car.

The wings are a different story though, I will pay extra cash for a spoiler with oem fitting and quality.

Any info on the pricing (of the spoiler)?

Important to know that this individual part is NOT available as of yet but will be later so keep trying your dealer.. !!!!

I am not a very patient person... Guys here is the canadian part number for the wing in white. 08F02-S5T-370

There are part numbers for vivid blue and silver but I am one that would rather have someone color match my cars paint.. This is why the whites are different on the cars in the picture.. auto shops blend so it matches......

BIG THANKS TO NIGEL at HondaWay for his help..

YO! The kit look similiar to the Honda concept Si. but I like the concept like 1000 times more. The kit look find to me, I like the wing, the skirts, and the rear bumper (when it is drop). I'll get the mugen lip when it comes out this summer.
BTW thanks for the pictures

07-08-2003, 08:19 AM
why does it look like none of the pieces really fit the car? The all look like they weren't make for the car in the first place. And the reflectors/signals make it look even more out-of-place....The rear bumper would be cool if it fit and if the reflectors were gone. i'll stick with the type-r kit.

DTR
07-08-2003, 01:35 PM
i dig the wing, its a definate buy. i wouldnt mind the kit if it actually blended into the body lines and wasnt sooo bulky. but i think im still definately going type-r conversion. although there was another post on ephatch wher this guy recorded an event and there was an SIR i think with a prototype type-R kit for the SI, i think its the second post on ephatch and someone in that post took pics of the event and added the link to the pics. but that kit doesnt look bad at all, i think that would be option #2 instead of this kit......but i think its fiberglass though.

07-08-2003, 02:34 PM
