View Full Version : Anyone interested in embroidered headrests?

On the nasioc.com board (a Subaru/Impreza message board
similar to this one), a guy was offering to embroider headrests
for the wrx/2.5rs for about $60. I had it done, got a lot of
comments on it, etc.

Since I just traded that in for my Si, I thought about doing it
with the rear headrests in our cars. I'm not even sure if they
come off (nearly all headrests covers have a zipper - I think),
but if they do, he could embroider them. He does good work,
and it's fairly cheap, but does dress up the interior nicely.

Here's his website (his name is giulio):
Embroidered Headrests (http://www.universeg.com/hre/)

It's basically just set up to process orders, but if you go
here (http://www.universeg.com/hre/gallery/honda/) and click on the picture, you'll get a semi-good view of what he
does.
Actually, here's the pic:

He can embroider nearly any logo - I've already talked to him
about doing it for the Si, and as long as we keep the logo fairly
simple (i.e. no detailed engine design), it should work just fine.

Would anyone be interested in this? Mods, do I need to get him
on the board and approved as a vendor? Or can I just pass
along info?

Personally, I was thinking of something like what I had on my
Impreza, but replace "WRX" with "Si" and "Impreza" with "Civic".

I was also thinking of just "ep3", or something a lil' less obvious.
Let me know what you guys think.

I think someone did this but it had "SI" on that top portion of the headrest. ANyone have that pic to show andy?

I searched around a little but couldn't find it. It was an attachment so its probably gone anyway.

heres the other thread:

but depending on how easy our stock rear headrests come off, I really like this idea and would do it if he is willing

keep us informed

Very easy, press the button and lift up

Yup, just as JLannoo said, just unhook and lift off. Looks like
getting them on will be a minor pain, just no biggie.

I talked again to the guy who does these - if we can get at
least 5, that would work perfectly. And he said he can do
pretty much any logo, but I gave him a pic of the floormats

i.e.:
http://ebay3.ipixmedia.com/abc/M28/_EBAY_b6a8e813c20605b52521aaa69478553c/i-1.JPG

and he said he could do that no problem (he just needs a
better/more close up shot of it). We could also do another
logo (ephatch.com??? lol) if anyone would like.

Let me know who's interested...just post in this thread if you
are.

count me in

I like the idea before, with the Si above the smaller civic text

OK, here's the design giulio said he could do:

http://universeg.com/hre/comps/civic_rc1.jpg

I sent him measurements of the headrests today (they are gonna
be a slight pain to get back on, but it's just a matter of squishing
the foam) and he said he would make the design about 5" long.
I'm assuming he can still do different colors (you can choose
pretty much any color(s) you want) on this design, but I need
to double check on that.

What it entails is sending him your headrests (you pay to ship),
and I think for $60 shipped you get them back following the next
weekend. He registered yesterday amid the forum problems, but
he'll explain more later. I'm definitely going to have this done...should
be cool to see what it will look like in the car. Dress up the interior/rear a bit.

post pics when yours are done, I'm pretty sure I'll do this once I get back in town next week

I'll post pics as soon as these are done (hopefully next week).
I was hoping to get 5-6 people to go in on an "initial batch," but
it sounds like I'll need to be the guinea pig. No big deal. ;)

I wish there would be a way to have my front seat done without having the down time of no car. Since you can not see my back seat at all I just can not see spending $60 on it.
