I know our cars tend to rev pretty high (4000rpm at 80mph) so the noise from the intake would probably be high also. In the mornings I mostly listen to the radio so I don't know if I'll be able to if I get an intake. For those of you with SRI or CAI, how is the ride on the highway? I would guess the SRI is quieter

i had my sri on about a week before takin it off for some warranty work, i never had an issue with listening to the radio or talkin.....the only time you REALLY heard it is at high rpms or like downshifting.

I do 80% highway and I have a SRI. No addl. sound until the throttle is planted to the floor.

You guys are wusses.
I have AEM CAI/GReddy EVO.. It's quiet as hell. I can hear the radio on the lowest volume level while cruising. And yep, stock audio.

He doesn't think he can get an intake because he thinks he won't be able to hear the radio...
"In the mornings I mostly listen to the radio so I don't know if I'll be able to if I get an intake."
The way it was worded was very... "sensitive." lol
And my CAI is quieter than the Injen SRI. I don't even hear it until I turn off the car and hear the sucking of air. The only time it sounds loud is at WOT over 5k RPMs like dunrick stated.

I don't think you should worry about this and believe me you will enjoy listening to your intake sound more than the radio. :)

The intake noise is more related to throttle position than rpm. In other words, cruisin at 4Krpm will not be nearly as loud as 4Krpm wido open throttle. I had a Typhoon sri and never had a problem.
