Im about to buy an exhaust system to complement dc 4-1 ceramic headers and injen 2 piece cold air intake. So far I've narrowed it down to these different exhausts.
Invidia RS*R/ skunk2 (they're the same)
HKS Hi-power
or magnaflow

I am looking for best performance gains, and these three seem pretty much to be the best. Even though magnaflow is by far the cheapest, they boast large hp and torque gains across the entire power band. I dont know tell me what you think, I just need a little help before dropping what money I have into an exhaust system.

Sound and looks are not really issues, because all three of these exhausts have good sound and good looks.

Thanks

I don't have one myself, but nonetheless I would pick magnaflow. Mostly for the great sound, quality, and price; in that order :)

Invidia or HKS
The invidia is made incredibly well, and unlike the Skunk 2 exhaust which is made in malasya, is still manufactured by RS*R of Japan.
I think that I will be ordering the HKS for my girl's ep because it will be quieter than the Invidia.
I have it on my RSX-S, and it's loud.

I got the Borla Catback for 390. Cant beat that price. It looks good, sounds good (on the quiet side). It will also get just as good of gains as all the other catback exhausts...bolts right up

RS*R has NOTHING to do with Invidia. NOTHING. It used to be a brand of theirs, but they dropped it many years ago. The name was bought by another company who is manufacturing them.

I was told by the distributor that Skunk 2 has nothing to do with RS*R, but that Invidia is indeed still collaborating with them..... I dunno.

My HKS system is awesome, then again so is my Borla system.

Nope. RS*R has specifically addressed this on their website. If you Google search for it, you should be able to find the page.

I bought the ThermalRD cat back system (stainless). I chose this company for two reasons. One, i heard it on another civic, wicked sound! Two, they offer two different styles of exhaust. One fore mid-top end power for highly modded cars, and one for low end power for mildly built cars. I dont have a really built civic, so i bought the setup designed for lowend. Im really happy with it. When i buy my supercharger, im gonna switch everything to DC sports.

Matt.

Is the HKS exhaust loud inside the cabin?

Where did you find the Magnaflow.

I am on a price budget.

My priorities......cost...performance....sound

How about the Borla?

My HKS sport system is near stock sound levels when crusing, its only when I get on it that it gets loud, I love it.

Can someone post pics of the Magnaflow? I believe it is similar to the Borla with the dual tip design, definitly something I want.

This is off of Magnaflow's website:
2.0L 1-4, Hatchback SI,
5x8x11" Muffler, 2.25" Tubing, Rear Exit, 3.5" Tips

That was the spec on their original, single-tip design. They've recently changed it to a dual-dip design like the Borla. Both designs have the same product number though. There's still some of the old ones floating around on Ebay.

Search for pics of the new one. It looks GOOD.

My friend has a Magnaflow exhaust on his Base RSX and it absolutely sounds like shit. It's very raspy and buzzy. Not deep at all. It did seem to gain a few horse though.

dude, all it comes down to is money, if u have the funds, hks is the only way to go, sure ur gonna pay more, but u get ur moneys worth, i have owned a lot of exhausts in the past (other vehicles ofcourse), greddy, tanabe, borla, skunk 2, apex'i, and the hks is the best one i have had yet IMO. the only one i would compare (on an EP basis), is the greddy evo system, in conclusion: go with the hks or go with a good exhaust system, not some cheap crappy one thats gonna fall apart in a year. again, though IMO :D

where did you find borla for 390, I would like to look into that. But I dunno, I really want HKS but I dont want to attract a lot of attention, AKA tickets. I got enough bone stock.

Can't tell if your set on spending money or just want power?

None the less, you get the most power, with the stock look from
just swapping the midpipe out. An old spin with all the benifits.
I have no other recommendations for you:(

Btw: Your header is right. Run with the DC ceramic and CAI. You
won't be disappointed.
