Nice car! Its funny how you guys are striving for Mugen while the rest of us are striving for CTR stock.

Thanks!

Isn't there anyone importing Left Hand Drive CTRs from Europe to the states? I imagine there'd be huge demand for them..

Nice car! How u like the onboard computer for 0-60 and stuff? I tried it with a stop watch and got 8.2.... it is tough to manually time.... Then again, my friends subaru got 14.8, haha.... Anyways, car looks good, nice engine... Cost is too high for most people to import the CTR when you could just buy a faster car here for the same price...

Anj
07-20-2003, 02:37 PM
LOL, how did manage to shift through the gears with a stopwatch in one hand? :D Or do you have an auto?

I guess your right about the importing being prohibitively expensive. Although with the quality of the Mugen/JDM-kitted EP3s I've seen on this forum, you guys aren't missing much!

We actually find in the UK, that its often cheaper to import Mugen/Spoon stuff directly from Japan than purchase it officially from a UK dealer! (even after shipping+tax!)

Also, I'm glad to see so many of you yanks ;) appreciating decent suspension mods, you have totally turned around my prejudices regarding American motoring, as all the cars I've driven in the states have handled like water beds! ;)

Thanks for the all the kind words guys!

I've posted these pics on the following forums: Honda Revolutions, CivicType-R.co.uk, and UK Independant Forums.. Is SRG = Street Racing Gallery? Ahh yes.. posted them there too... as I'm a member of all forums! They aren't copied and reposted, just linked from my own web domain.

Look forward to seeing some more of your bad ass EP3s..

WOW!

I swear we really got hosed in the States....I mean even if i got the RIMS that are on the TypeR, instead of our 15inch heavy ass rims...i would be happy, and wouldnt have spent 1grand on a set of rims!

Nice TypeR...keep us posted on your ride!

...I'm striving for Mugen...
great looking car Anj, the small mugen touches to the engine bay really make a big difference compared to the oem look...do you plan on getting the front Mugen lip/bonet?

Anj
07-21-2003, 09:14 AM
Lip maybe.. not sure about the bonnet - don't think I can justify spending 1k pounds on a bonnet! (when I can good quality unbranded carbon fibre ones for

It is dropped very slightly (15mm at the Front, and 20mm at the Rear). I'm much more concerned with maintaining the handling rather than getting better looks, and dropping a Type-R more than 20mm can introduce bumpsteer problems at the rear. There are ways around this, a famous local tuner in the UK called ABP does special Camber Adjustment parts which'll allow you to drop even further. But then I couldn't enjoy driving fast down the twisty country lanes where I live :-) The Eibach springs I'm using really are excellent!

Thanks for the cool comments guys!

Still have a few bits to get yet: Mugen Manifold, Race-cat.. Maybe ECU..

To be honest, I rather like having my car looking stock from the outside, but having seen more and more Mugen lips on this forum, I may just have to call TakaKaira one more time...

dude you have a type-r kit, people would kill for a type-r kit in the states...its a beautiful kit. But then again 02silversihb has proven that a carbon fiber kit looks incredible on a silver hatchback. I thought silver was a crappy color choice for a si until i saw his car, check it out. http://k-series.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=159

More importantly I have a Type-R engine and Type-R handling! :D I'd like to keep looks as discreet as possible, hence only the grille has been changed (and again, that's purely for the functional purpose of Cold Air Induction). 02silversihb's car looks very nice indeed! but I'm the type of guy to paint over CF so it matches the body colour, and be happy that I still have saved a little weight!

I was seriously considering it (I have seen it on a silver EP3 and it looks stunning, but I'm worried that once I've got that, I'll then get the rear wing & wheels too!! Don't wanna end up bankrupt!), but I also like the stock shape too!

haha no kidding they are a lot. Plus, I love the hood, rear wing, lip and wheels too, hehe. I know someone on the UK forum a while back was offereing replicas of the lip, wing and grill.

Anj
09-18-2003, 01:36 PM
Yeah I think that was Pow:R who offered replicas in the UK. But remember, you get what you pay for! Even Pow:R admitted that their replicas were made of materials that were much more prone to stone chipping than the original items!!

I don't know what's worse, someone mad enough to pay for original "expensive" Mugen gear, or someone mad enough to pay for fake "under performing" Mugen gear! :)

Thanks guys. Regarding the hood - its a genuine Mugen CF hood - but painted.

Still waiting for a Mugen header/Cat to complete my baby - come on King Motorsport, give M-Tec a nudge in the right direction!

a real mugen whore :D no replica fo u.
u got urself one DOPE ass ride.

oh and doesnt the g-timer2 have to be mounted in the center of the car to be correctly used ?

Anj
05-18-2004, 03:23 AM
Yes your right about the G-Timer, but I think thats mainly for gforce measurements. Regardless, living in London, like any other major city, there is a lot of car crime - its best to keep in-car gadgets as discreet as possible!

Ep3 No.2
05-18-2004, 01:16 PM
if it doesnt keep track of your g forces correctly what do you use it for ?

Anj
05-18-2004, 02:12 PM
0-60 times / 1/4 mile times etc I should have said left/right g-forces. From my basic mathemetics & physics education I was assuming g-force measurments from forward straightline motion would remain unaffected by offset installation.
