welcome, I've heard a lot about the valentine 1 on here, how much do they run for?

the valentine 1 is $399, most expensive on the market and by far the best. directional arrows show where radar is coming from and how many radar sources! You can only order one from WWW.valentine1.com the ones for sale on ebay are normally stolen and if you send in the V1 for servicing and the serial number is reported stolen they keep it, so just buy one from the site:mad:

It's often touted that the V1 is the best detector on the market. I did quite a bit of research before I bought one though, and I haven't seen any proof of this. I'm sure it's a good detector, just recommending you do your homework if you haven't yet.

hey, havent seen you around btc except for that one time, i am going to batavia autocross saturday, we'll see how it does stock.

I have seen the V1 in action and was amzed that we knew about a cop about 1/4 mile before he spotted us, great range, so what does your homework say? not being sarcastic, just i seen enough to elieve in it.

I got a Bel Vector 940, because it was half the price of a V1 and performed similarly in tests on http://www.radartest.com - this was like a year ago. I'm sure the detectors are a little more evolved now. In any case, the 940 works quite well, but laser and instant-on guns will still get you every time. I've gotten one ticket since I've bought it, but it's saved my ass a few times- it's definitely paid for itself.

can the V1 detect these signals?

It will detect them, sure, but the catch is that it can only detect them WHEN YOU'RE GETTING GUNNED. Which means that you can't use it to avoid a ticket in those cases. The detector goes nuts, you say "Oh, shit!", and get ready to pull over. Around me about a quarter of cops out gunning use instant-on and laser guns.

NOTHING can protect you against instant-on.
By the time your detector goes off, it's too late.
