Heya,
I'm looking for a way to get my MP3 player working with the stock head unit ... anyone ever wire into the "tape" input with success???
I could just get an FM transmitter, but I hear that the quality is not fantastic ...
any suggestions?
thanks,
Graham

Read this thread. There are some links to where you can buy AUX in adaptors toward the bottom.

The plug-in for the CD changer has line in, but the unit requires a power signal coming in to acknowledge the signal when you put the mode button.
I dont think anyone's figured it out yet, but it might even be a matter of jumping two of the harness plugs to create continuity. The only way to find out is to have an actual OEM CD-Changer and/or tech manual for one.

We make a MP3 player called the PhatBox that plugs into the stock CD changer input and allows you to have up to 60gb of digital music. We "tap" into the changer protocol and reversed engineered all the packet signaling.
I have one in my car for the time being (plugged into stock radio), but will change the firmware in the box later once I get a Kenwood radio and system.
If anyone wants more information about it, go to www.phatnoise.com or ask me.

I think the best hassle-free option is a P.I.E HON-AUX Adapter and using whichever input device you want:

Anyone install one of these???
hmmm ... this may justify that iPod purchase :)
