weirdest thing with gas mileage

Okay, this was my first full tank of gas given by the dealership. I was at half tank this morning and tonight on my way to drop off the little bro my empty light goes on. This is the first 230 miles i have driven and its already out of gas. Could it be because its my first time using stick? or because my car is just retarded? It filled up with only 13 dollars...weird

I think the gas mileage increases as you break in the engine.

id say thats about normal, especially if you arent babying the car. when the gas light comes on, you can fill 10 gallons into the tank. but u can drive with the light on for awhile

its normal.. when my car was new.. light woudl come on when i used up only 9 gallons.. sometimes LESS than 9gallons.. but now.. the light comes on AFTER i used over 10gallons. weird.

i'll always get about 230 when the light comes on... i guess i enjoy the 6k area too much :D

I seem to get 30 mpg regardless of how I'm driving.

when I first bought the car, i'd get about 250 miles till the light came on. Then it went up to about 270. Now I get about 300 miles till the light comes on.

Gas mileage seems to have gotten better after I lowered the car. maybe it's just in my head, but the lowered wind resistance at speed has to help gas mileage somewhat.

im havin a similiar problem , after i go on a trip it will say ive only used ab a quarter tank but after i shut off my car and let it sit then turn it back on it says ive used half a tank

I just hit my 12k mark and I have noticed that my car gets better mileage now then ever. I can go up to 250mi+ til my light goes on and it used to be around 230. Altough, even with 250mi on one tank, I still only fill tp to like 10.5 gallons. :p
