i removed the snorkel that goes into the intake box. It is located under the intake piping going to the manifold. I know it was getting air in a cooler place but it can breathe alot easier now through the 3" hole. The car sounds better. Also, The K&N filter I put in is more noticable. Is there any negative side affects of removing this tubing? Could one of you Honda wizards please tell me? thanks.

The only negative I can think of is you're probably getting warmer air.

Exactally the air under the hood is always hotter, so its less dense.

Hi EuroSteez,

Like what I did, remove the snorkel, put in a 3" flexible hose and suck air from the bottom.

In that case, you get:
1) More air from the 3" inlet
2) Cold air from the bottom of the car

I remember a few months back some discussion of a member or company or both that was engineering a better than oem intake snorkel that was used with the stock airbox. I am torn between an icebox with oem filter or mods to the stock airbox. I have had little luck with getting 2 other cars to run over 100K with KN filters in the past with meticulous maintenance and not a ton of revs.
