Chevron with Techron (93 octane) most of the time. Unless I'm low on gas and I can't make it to one. :)

when i pump arco gas 91 octane doesnt seem to be 91 and i get much less gas mileage per fill up. I average 290 or so with Mobil and 220 with arco. this is with 9 gallons. Never tried 76. Does it matter if u get different gas at different gas stations? i've only pump Mobil since i got it but had to use Arco once.

i guess the rumor is that cheaper gas stations ie: Beacon, Shell
put (might be wrong here) Methanol in their gas which would make it combust (burn) quicker giving you less miles per full tank. Try it out fill up w/ 76 and se what you get on a full tank, then try it out with a "cheaper" gas.

i heard arco gas is crap. its like water down and ish. if people say theres no difference, tell them to fill up arco and then some other company like chevron, 76 etc.. and u will feel a big difference.

Sunoco! They have 97 don't they? That was some good crap when I was in NJ with my old VR6. It LOVED the "rich" stuff.

To answer the question of, "Does it matter where anybody buys gas"?

The answer to me is a resounding "YES". But my answer does not come from a performance standpoint. Instead, this sways where my car points when she needs fuel.

The Saudi Arabians held a telethon in April 2002 to collect money to pay families of those that commit suicide bombings to become martyrs. They collected $92 MILLION!

$92 Million for families of terrorists that kill themselves and take innocent men, women, and children with them. Terrorists who blow up busses filled with children, and churches, and Crazy Moe's Deli.

Where to buy gasoline and not support terrorism actually is food for thought - Buy from the gas companies that don't import their oil from the Saudis [Middle Eastern]. Nothing is more frustrating than the feeling that every time I fill-up the tank, I am sending my money to people who are trying to kill me, my family, and my friends (Including all you guys and girls that drive Ep's). I thought it might be interesting for you to know which oil companies are the best to buy gas from.

Major companies that import Middle Eastern oil (for the period
9/1/00 - 8/31/01).

Shell............... 205,742,000 barrels
Chevron/Texaco.......144,332,000
Exxon/Mobil..........130,082,000
Marathon.............117,740,000
Amoco................62,231,000

If you do the math at $30/barrel, these imports amount to almost $20 BILLION!

Here are some large companies that do not import Middle Eastern oil:

Citgo...........0 barrels
Sunoco........0
Conoco........0
Sinclair........0
BP/Phillips..0

All of this information is available from the Department of Energy
and can be easily documented. Refineries located in the U.S. are required to state where they get their oil and how much they are importing. They report on a monthly basis.

Keep this list in your car; share it with friends. Stop paying for
terrorism.

Also, These facts mean a lot more to me than a few octane points and a few pennies less or more for a gallon of gas.

Now THAT is good point and a good idea.

Thanks for the list.

what about 76 gas stations are they supporting terrost? Well, see the problem Speedracer is this:

It's extremely difficult to find a petroleum supplier that doesn't import from a "Terrorist" abiding nation. The figures I've shown are from Saudi Arabia, and that is it (Just because the use of the "Telethon" was so disgusting to me). Almost *every* petroleum supplier gets at least some of their crude or refined petro from the Persian Gulf. Here's a breakdown from the Dept. of Energy of "Persian Gulf Importers", and how many barrels they actually import:

Persian Gulf Petroleum Importers (http://www.eia.doe.gov/pub/oil_gas/petroleum/data_publications/company_level_imports/current/data/summary2002.html)
Please take a look around this area of the DOE site to understand which importers are doing what and where they are getting it from. Then you can make your own deductions and decisions.

And to answer your question, 76 is owned by Philips Petro which imported 6,915,000 barrels from Jan - June 2002

To stop supporting terrorism would require us to change way of life. Anyone here want an electric car?
