If you are transplanting the engine, why not the tranny as well?

I know everyone is going got think I'm crazy not to keep the 6spd with the A2 swap. I know that the 6spd has closer ratios and would give quicker acceleration. But I like the 5 spd just fine. The car is mostly a street car and a daily driver so the 6 spd would just mean more shifting most of the time. I want the power of the A2 but I don't care about 1/4 mile times so I really don't need the 6 spd and I hope to sell it for good money to help pay for the A2.

If you are in W-S, I would be happy to show you the 6spd. call me at 924-5800 (home) or 725-9090 (office).

4-5k miles? In the picture on eBay the tranny looks new! Is it really that clean in person? Due to the fact you are keeping the 5 speed, I assume that you haven't had any shifting problems. Mine was great for about the first 4000 miles, and it went to crap after that. Even downshifting to second to make a turn made me cringe.

To everyone looking at this auction: I have swapped the RSX 6 speed into my Si, and the car is a hell of a lot more fun to drive. The close ratio of 2nd through 5th keeps you in the power band better. 6th gear dropped my rpm from 4100 at 80mph to 3600 rpm. I haven't taken a long drive yet, but I expect a 2-3 mpg improvement.
