Did you do the swap yourself or have a shop do it?

BTW - if you still have your 5 speed tranny I would be interested in purchasing it; my POS tranny is going out for the SECOND time!!

Sweet, nice job. That weight deduction looks pretty cool. Just to make it look a little nicer you could do as Subaru did in the new STi and put hollow wool lightweight carpeting :) That or go naked.

How much weight is the carpet? or how much weight did you shave at least?

Nice ride.
oh and a nice tip I like to send around for the weight reducing racers... every 100lbs you shave is .1-.2 seconds off your 1/4 mile time :) heheh

David McDavid Honda did the swap and they kept the tranny and blown motor cause I didnt want to pay a $300 core charge to get the tranny back. The entire motor was shit anyway and I didnt have a place to put the 5 speed until I sold it.

Check out Green Leaf to see if they have a 5 speed for ya. This is the yard where Honda got my A2 and tranny from.

I took out about 150lbs in total and I have gotten used to the "naked" look, but maybe since I have an A2 now I just might put carpet back in.

Roughly how much did all this cost? Did you have to find the A2 yourself or did David McDavid do it all for you? Sucks about the 5 speed.

All together it cost me $9210.99. Honda found the engine and tranny for me. If my motor wasnt blown I could of saved 2400 on labor by giving them my motor and tranny. Oh well, the person to do it first usually ends up paying the most!!

But its all good.

9200 for an A2 motor swapped!!!! Holy SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!! For that money, I would have bought a 95 240sx, an RB26 motor with an RB25 tranny... and have money left over!!

Glad you like it though...and if the money was no object... rock on!

Why in the world did you have to pay 9200 for the motor?

22,000 k motor plus 6 speed tranny, ecu, and labor, plus taxes.

Motor and tranny were 6400 not 9200 it was more than just the motor.

VSV would of charged me around the same and might not of got a motor with that many miles on it. I was lucky to just find an 03 motor cant put an 02 in cause its illegal.

If you can get all that for what I paid then get it cause in Texas it will cost you around 6k to 7k for just the car and then atleast another 3500-4500 for the motor swap.
