Hopefully these pics attach:
The whole idea behind this was to have a functional trunk that I could use whenever I needed it. I basically started by stripping the trunk down to nothing and dynomatting all the holes and cracks. I used a product called great stuff to create a bottom floor for the box to sit on. I also used it to go around the box and amp racks securing everything in place. This also absorbs any vibration that may occur from the bass. For those of you that don't know what Great Stuff is...It's a foam thats used in houses to fill in cracks and holes. It expands and then hardens. I used vinal in the amp racks and the cap rack. The grill, port, and 2 vents were then painted red. The top floor was then cut and shaped. 1/4in plexi-glass was cut to go over the amps and cap. The final step was carpet. Crossfire audio was used all the way around with a pioneer 840mp as the head unit. All in all I sacrificed only 4 inches of floor space. Basically the floor is 4 inches higher than before.
Special thanks to my bro Jorge for helping me create my vision.

Thanks for fixing that problem for me. I don't see the need for a spare tire at this point in time. I have 17's on the way so a spare tire would be a waste. You can create a custom box with the spare tire but you would sacrafice a lot of space. I wanted to use my trunk.

That little 10 sounds fantastic in a hatch. You can hear me coming down the street so i guess its pretty good. I'm pushing 400watts through it right now.
Crossfire...oh yeah!

Almost finished, I didn't have the clear coat for finishing and I got some marks of my hand. then the next day, I got my HU stolen, so I think it will take some more time to enjoy it again. no money for now.

I still want a single 8" and a an amp in my hatch. Something I can easily un bolt and take out for race day.

Civicvtec1ps - Install looks great. Nice job! Clean and tight!

BlackNRedSi - Still love that custom box. Wish I had the time to learn how to glass.

C1V1C - Great idea. Post some more pics when you're done!

SSVR6 - Hey Steve, why don't you go the same route I did. 4 channel under the front drivers seat, cap and distribution blocks under the passenger seat, MB Components and crossovers in the doors, and a removable square Kicker Solobaric in a truck box in the hatch. No space wasted, my rears seats still fold down and I have full hatch access. Sub is held in by automotive grade velcro on the bottom.

Steve

let's start with the mounting depth of the subwoofer. 8" dia, I am thinking somewhere around 5" in depth ? and how much is the volume requirement ?

give me some number, we probably can start from there.
