I'm starting my own thread since I kinda intruded on someone elses 4 sale thread. Sorry bout that whoever you were. Anyway, I noticed how ppl R paying $50+ for CTR shiftboots????? I went to acura and purchased the shiftboot adapter ring for $6. It actually clips DIRECTLY into the lil' chrome piece on our stock shiftboot. Thus meaning that its made for that application. Only difference that I can tell is on the Actual CTR boot, the chrome piece seems to be maybe a .5" shorter. Oh well, I think it looks SUPER:D . I will post some pics now so you guys can flame me and make fun of my car:eek:     Laterz

correct me if i'm wrong, but what acura has the dash mount shifter?

pics would help us understand what part exactly you're talking about.

and what car it's off of.

Well the clip part is the same on the rsx. So if they sold an adapter it would fit on our clip as well. I think this might be what he's talking about but I dont have a pic.

Its under RSX interior accessories

cheaper to buy clip than paying 50 bucks for jdm boot. only differences between jdm boot and our stock ones are just chrome clip..new clip work with oval shaped shiftknob , looks 10000x better than ugly stock chrome clip.when you buy aftermarket shiftknobs ;)

Mine is being shipped to me as I type... Got it off ebay for $50. Oh well, at least I have a CTR boot.. :D I would love to see pics! Anyone know any good knobs to go with it? I was thinking about the RSX Type-S knob with the red engraving.

any part # on that yet? I went to Acura today and the guy said I couldn't get that part separately, I had to get the whole boot. What year rsx-s is it on?

Hmm, that clip would look kinda weird since ours is chrome. If it were chrome I'd sell me CTR shiftboot and get the RSX clip. Here's what I'm talking about...

i got the jdm shift knob, with the old spoon knob looks really good, theres a new spoon shift knob but its like 100 bux, the older one is only like 50 now and it looks good, even feel like it helps the shifting a bit

Holy shit I started this thread forever ago, and I just now noticed that I never added the pix. So I'll add them now. I'll see if I can figure out what the part # is for this black clip.
Its the small black clip right below the shiftknob, on top of the chrome ring

Yeah sorry about again that guys..... What do you guys think? Is it close enough to the JDM boot to justify it. I have a Skunk 2 knob now and it looks awsome. Laterz

Besides the different ring on the tip, the CTR boot also has more rubber in the accordion portion, which helps it to extend far enough up the shift lever. I haven't even put on a washer or nut to keep my boot against the knob.
