As of right now i have a 94 Integra RS. I was planning on grabbing an ITR (97), but i have basically fallen in love with the SI. I was just wonderng how easy it is to find a CTR engine?? Are there a lot of them in Japan?? And how much are they running for?? Also how easy would the 6 speed tranny be to swap, is it just a bolt on switch, or do mod's have to be performed?? Thanks for all your help.

i believe that the rsx s engine is very if not exactly the same engine as the ctr has. it was talked about already here http://www.ephatch.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1431

Type R engines run on avg. 7500-8500 depending on mileage and what all you get with it.. I am seriously considering the swap and from all my reasearch it shouldn't be that hard of a swap...

In time when the engine becomes more available I'll make my move. Till then the lack of the K20 is gonna cause me sticker shock.

"In time when the engine becomes more available"

Unfortunatly that is true. As the K series engines become more and more popular, so will the theft of our lovely cars. --joe

Hey folks, why spend 7-8 grand on a K engine especially if u already got one. I got an 02's Si, and for that kind of cash you can basically buy over the counter a brand new RSX-S tranny,ECU and head for quite a bit less money and get the HP your looking for. This is assuming you already own an 02' Si that is.

I'm not sure how much that would add up to, but I'd be worried about reliability issues with the Si bottom end at 8000 RPM. Also, the ignition map would be optimized for 11:1 CR. It's much safer to just get the whole engine used.
