That is a custom clip on our stock boot, but you still have to do something to keep the boot from sliding down.

What I did is remove the knob and boot, and I used a small piece of 1/8" foam w/ adhesive on the back (the kind like you use when installing an air conditioner in your house), I wrapped that foam around the shifter just below the thread, then re-installed the boot. The foam keeps the boot from sliding down AT ALL, you can even pull down on the boot as hard as you can and it wont budge. If you dont have this foam stuff you can use electrical tape or anthing else you have laying around.

Well, I got my Skunk2 knob today and installed it. When I first opened it, there was tarnish on it. I was like damn, not another ish item. But then I whipped out the Eagle One polisher and boom it was sparkling new.. When I picked up the knob, it was flipping heavy as ish. You guys weren't kidding!!! I was afraid that it would break my shifter.. But it really feels natural!!!!! I would recommend this knob to anyone! Now I'm still waiting on my CTR boot... :p BTW what is the nut that came with the knob for?

I didn't get the ctr boot with my knob. Take a look at the pic SKUNK2 Knob (http://ephatch.com/forum/attachment.php?s=&postid=186079)
Just take apart the lower dash. Screw on the nut that came with the knob. Remove chrome piece from the shift put and place it upside down on the nut (this will hold up the boot). Finally reassemble the dash and and screw on the knob. You may need to adjust the nut a couple of times to get the lettering straight
