whoa dude..that sucks. What you need to find out is if the stripe are under the clear coat. If they are on top of the clear coat, you might be able to have them taken off at a paint shop or something. Maybe even the honda dealership

They are on top of the claercoat which is a plus. Body shops around here all quoted me about 2 bills. I could do it myself but I am impatient as all hell, must be the ADHD.

I feel lucky that mine were just stickers, and it was that easy to peel them off. If they were painted on -- like madbrain's -- I would've either tried to live with them, or find a way to get rid of them.

Earlier threads haven't had any advice on removing painted-on pinstripes, unfortunately. I imagine that it could be done, but it's certainly beyond my means.

I'm not gonna take them off myself. Although after about an hour with a rag and goof off I was able to remove about 2 inches. You do the math.

The body shop said to wet sand them off with 1500 grit and then buff it after. This would probably take me an eternity and I would either mess up or lose my mind in the process.

Maybe it could be done, then, but with a lot of patience.

To stay sane while actually working on it, maybe you could let it be a "work in progress" -- halfway down each stripe per day, or something. Yes, it would look really odd for a while, but at least it would get done.
