removing front H?

has anyone removed the front H completely?
(not just replaced it with a fancy red one)
I've seen it done on older (99-00) SIR's and I think it looks pretty mean with just the honeycomb grill...any thoughts? can it be done or is there something under there that I'm not aware of?

This has been covered at least a dozen times.

There is a "blank" area behind the H "riser" so the grille wouldn't be completely honey comb.
