i was wondering if unplugging the power to the car... thus my alarm would affect my alarm in anyway. My installer said not to play with it or else i'll "loose all my settings" but in my alarm's manual it says that it saves the settings and reboots to the way it was? so i was wondering if it had anything to do with the Honda security unit? the unit that has our key coded chip (for remote start) if i unplug the power will that get erased?

thanks!

i don't know what kinda alarm you've got, but it shouldn't matter if you disconnect the battery.

i've got a viper in mine, and i've had to disconnect the battery a couple times for some installs. the only thing that will be affected by taking the battery terminal off is you'll have to put the code for your factory radio (if you still have one), and reset the clock.

don't worry about the chip in the key. that is programmed to the ecu. unless you try to put someone elses honda key in your ignition. otherwise you're good.
