I think DC dealers suck more than anything, what the hell do they know about HP headers ?. DC dealers are trained to repeat what they are given in advertising literature. I wish someone would get a DC header and actually dyno test it to shut them up once and for all.

i don't care what he said so i'm going with hp headers.

well I dont try to sway anyone to any product, but until DC can prove their power on the dyno they have no right criticizing other brands. I've got the HP header and would be willing to put it up against any other US brand on the market, I'm willing to bet the HP header makes as much power as Comptech or DC.

Well,
Alamo is all about DSM cars....turbo eclipses, talons. They do good jobs on those cars but I dont think they are good in the Honda field at all. Ive been there b4 and it seems like Honda is not on the top of thier list there. Just FYI.

miamijdm made just over 14 whp with the HP header and 2.25" custom mandrel bent mid-pipe, that is the best dyno info I have seen. HP guarantees at least 5whp gains on any header they make, or they won't produce one if they can't get 5 hp gains out of it.

Not too familiar with exhausts, but is the mid-pipe the part between the cat and the rear muffler ?
Thanks

Yeah, the midpipe is btwn. the cat and muffler.

how about a header from a RSX? NOPI has one listed for around 175.00 or stay away?

That is probably the HP header you're seeing on NOPI. That's the one I have on my car. It's listed under 2002 RSX (base). My total came to $194.15 with shipping. I think the quality is really great for the money, definately as good as anything I've had on my other cars. I really don't see how Comptech and DC can justify $500 for their units. I'm sure the quality is top notch, but our header is so tiny that the price seems out of line. But this is what they charge for their other headers, so why cut the price on this one? It's great for their bottom line.

David did you do the install yourself? I think I asked this question before, but I don't remember the answer? How long did it take and what tools do you need? I'm thinking about ordering the HP header this week.

Yeah I installed myself. Took about 1.5 hrs. with hand tools. Just a ratchet and two different sockets, ones a 14mm, cannot remember the other size. It's real straightforward. Just remember to reuse the stock collector gasket on the new header.

Did the header line up alright with your exhaust or did you have to do some modifications?

Perfect fit, no modifications necessary. It doesn't come with any instructions, and you reuse all the factory bolts and gaskets.

I know Billy Tylaska. He's a long time VW owner but did the DSM thing before he bought his first VW.

I agree about the DC headers though. I'm DEFINITELY buying the HP headers. There's no way DC can justify an additional $175 for their header.
