Anyone know of a gauge pod that is built for our rides? I'm trying to figure out where I'm going to put the boost and EGT gauges and was hoping someone knew of a company that was making them. I've looked at Autometer already and didn't see the Si listed. You help is appreciated :)

I am in the same boat. I came across this thread searching for where to buy a pillar pod. Anyone have one?

Yeeeep, same here. No pods out yet, so I just put my boost gauge in that extra hole next to the shifter. It came out pretty clean.

There was a Triple gauge pod for the pillar on Ebay. Try e-mailing the seller about more.

HEre some pictures installed on EVO8, tiburon 2003 and 2002 rsx just so you guys can see and compared to those so call Full pillar pods or whatever your local shop trying to dupe you into buying some that not made to fit 100% your Si.

Looks great. I saw this picture or another like it in a different thread. This is the gauge install that I have chosen for my EP. As we speak the shop is installing the gauges in the exact same places. I purchased the Auto Meter Colbalt gauges. I put my air fuel on the drivers side and my oil on the passenger side. I requested they install the boost gauge up by the instrument cluster. I also asked it was possible to relocate the emergency blinkers to the blank plug just to the right of the steering column. I will post pictures when I get my car back.

The gauges turned out sweet. The colbalt blue looks very cool. I think the gauge on the passenger must be angled I can see it very well from the drivers seat. I also like where they installed the boost gauge on the steering column. I am so glad that I went this route versus a pillar pod, I think it looks so much better and custom. I was uncertain if I would love it 100% or not from the pics but after seeing it in person,it is very worth while. I would like to post some pictures, does anyone have instructions on how to do so? Do I just attach the picture file?

They are Auto Meter gauges. They are from the Colbalt series. I had seen another EP on this sight that had them installed in this manner and simply showed the pictures to my turbo installer and there you go. The one on the steering column is the boost and the other two are air fuel and oil. I really like the way they turned out it looks very custom. I was surprised at how much gauges cost.

No way!!!!

When did Autometer come out with this? I e-mailed them couple months ago and they said said that probably next summer they would come out with the gauge pod for the EP3.

Just to confirm this is the pod for the 02 CIVIC SI(R) not just a regular 02 Civic right?

Also in regarding to Steve's question, do you know the part # for the dual pod?

I just checked Autometer's website. The po dyou have is just for the regular civic:(

But yours still looks nice though. Did you gave to modify anything for it to fit? and did you paint it to match the interior or did it come like that.

I debated to get that one a while ago but I know people here have got the dual pod for the civic and they said they had to modify it to fit.

stimpGSX

The part # is for the regular civic but it fits the si perfectly so no mods needed and yes they do have a dual pod. dont know the part #. the pod comes in black so you will have to paint it like i did.

Hey Steve,

when you do get it can you just confirm exactly how perfect the fit is? I am going to be deciding on whether to get it based on your findings.

I just want to be absolutely sure its a perfect fit before I buy because most likely I'll be asking my gf to buy me it along with some gauges for christmas

Thanks

I think the Autometer Cups look better than the pod add-on. It would be one thing if it was a full pillar replacement, but the add-on just dosen't look right to me. Besides, the cups have that "tuner" look to them. I'm very happy with mine.

ep3guy,

Can you honestly see those guages while driving?? I'm just curious. Part of the fun of the CN Turbo is tuning on the fly yourself, so I need to see my guages WHILE driving. I'm sure that's not really a concer for you, but I may move my guages there if you think their easy to see... I have a feeling their not tho...

And yeah -- where IS your hazard button now???

Thanks for postin that pic - the install is CLEAN AS HELL!

Eric

ep3guy
12-04-2003, 02:05 PM
I can read my boost gauge easily. I can't really see the Air/Fuel gauge clearly since the shifter gets in the way and it blocks the view of the gauge. This is the reason why I had my boost gauge on the left. Tuning on the fly with the Autometer air/fuel is kinda iffy because it is not accurate. Honestly, I don't really care for the air/fuel gauge because it's just a light show to me, nothing else lol. I wanna get an EGT gauge, but those are $$$$$$$.

As for my hazard, it's under the steering wheel kinda. I just moved the hazard button down there so if I ever need to use it, I just reach down and press it.

Ok, I test fitted the pod that I got off of Ebay. The top (front) portion is an exact fit. The bottom (close to the dash) leaves a little gap. It's barely noticeable. you how with your old pod there was a big gap with the first pod facing you, are you saying with the new one its sits flush?

K-Series
12-17-2003, 09:30 AM
Yes, completely flush. It's the part at the other end of the pod that doesn't. There's a slight lip in the mold that's not on our pillar.

You have to reach around to feel it though. If you stare at it, you can see that there's a protrusion, but it's no biggie by my standards.

are you talking about the pod and how it looks on the pillar or the actual pod itself?

Let me post pics of the pod by itself and on the pillar so I can explain. I'll do this around 6pm EST.

protrusion

\Pro*tru"sion\, n. 1. The act of protruding or thrusting forward, or beyond the usual limit.

2. The state of being protruded, or thrust forward.

n 1: something that protrudes [syn: bulge, bump, hump, gibbosity, gibbousness, jut, prominence, protuberance, extrusion, excrescence] 2: the act of projecting out from something [syn: projection, jut, jutting]
