Why do you think the Honda thinktank opted to put the i-VTEC decals on the Si?

Are they that proud of the technology that they want to put an outward sign of it on the car?

The previous SiR generation in Canada (Coupe) did have the I-Vtec decals on, but thet were smaller. I'm pretty sure the US models also had them on the Si's.

They had Vtec, not I-Vtec.

Either the stickers are supposed to link it to the previous generations, or they needed something to take the place of the missing side fairings....

It's in case you bring it to a garage other then a Honda dealer, they try to put i-vtec in as many places as possible so less then intelligent ppl dont think they are working on a POS focus.
