Dude. You better test that NOS/Hondata combo ... there are a lot of people waiting "a couple months" till you break your car in.... while plenty of us were willing and able to try it immediately, but you got the opportunity and the free NOS. You better do it.

Damn....that makes me sick just watching that. If that were my car, I'd probably puke right there on the spot.

I guess at least it didn't happen on the road.

Dont worry man Im installing the kit this weekend. I just dont want to toast my motor. I need a couple things from Edelbrock before I feel comfortable squeezing, ie. A/F meter and pressure gauge

The engine went BANG. ;) From what I can hear and tell it looks like the internals got tosted. From the sound I would maybe say the pistons got a hole burnt in them or the heads went bad by the valves getting toasted.

The block my be good still if you sleave the the cylinders and I bet the head needs to be replaced. Could be a good A2 head with stage III project.

I kinda figure it went BANG... lol

It probably burnt holes in the pistons, huh? So that's what detonation looks like from the outside?

I'm just amazed that there was ZERO motor sound after the big bang... and, sorry, I'm still laughing...

Black smoke usually means it ran too rich, but looks like it ran lean with the black smoke being n2o? Sounds like it ran lean and blew up or it ran too big of a n2o shot and blew up. Either way, that sux.

I did just about the same thing on my A3 motor, but mine blew out the other end lol. Intake side, blew the CAI intake off the throttle body and smashed the filter into the bumper. Plugs were blown apart and the pieces melted to the tops of the piston:p .

It was like arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrRRRRRRRRR BOOM! white smoke (N2O) from under the hood. I was at a 52 N2O jet and a 35 Fuel jet running rich and pooled. I think that is about 105-110 shot.

Tragic!!!! Gotta question tho. While listening to video what is it that is being said? Sounds like someone says, "blew a hole in your block" or is he saying, "blew your motor up"? Its around the 10 or 11 seconds into video, that what i am talkn about is being said. Right before the kid yells "FUCK!".

Yea... one of my friends was like, "dude, you shouldn't have gotten 2 of the big ones... I think you blew the welds." haha.

You wanna know what's funny.... this - "My dad woulda killed me".... now that's a funny statement. You know what? My dad would kill me too, if I blew up his car. I guess that's why nitrous isn't for everybody (try and use it on cars that YOU buy)

It was a good time. From inside the car, it was cool to watch the couplers and sensors grenade out of the car. If the camera work was better, I think you coulda saw one of the dyno techs actually diving out of the way. :)

The verdict is - I rolled the car off the dyno... put the intake tract back together, lowered the jetting, drove it an hour to Mid-Michigan Motorplex, and ripped off a 14.60 in a grudge match against a DSM.

so Bob had a nitrous backfire and blew off his intake , but the engine is still okay as evidenced by his 1/4 mile run. If I remember correctly Bob's been getting away with a few mishaps such as spraying too early at the 1/4 mile track, and this nitrous backfire etc....., but the engine still pulls on. He's the luckiest guy around here, must have a lot of balls to go through that experience then do some 1/4 mile runs on the juice a few hours later, he, he, he.
