Just mounted my new wheels and tires. They're OZ Superleggeras, 15x7 et+37 in Race Silver with Continental ContiExtremeContact 205/55-VR15. The wheels are 10.5 pounds. With tires, total weight is about 32 pounds. I've only driven them around the neighborhood and haven't even set the pressure yet, but so far I'm very pleased. They are very quiet and the car has sharper turn-in and better grip than stock tires. Acceleration feels effortless with the lighter wheels. 15s are where it's at! ;)

The pics (full-size versions are in my imagestation album in my sig):

Thanks! The lug nuts are just the standard tirerack chrome deals, with locks. Nothing special, but they do the job. Should I get something else?

i have the mcgard spline drive lugs. they're awesome. They are designed so that they don't scuff/score the wheel where the lugs seat. hard to explain w/o showing, but they are truly the caddillac of lug nuts.

they come in colors too. :)

Pretty cool. They must come with a special tool then? I have McGard wheel locks. Can I buy just 12 of the spline drive lug nuts?

I like the wheels, do you autoX?
I would suggest getting Kyokugen lugnuts. They are very lightweight, and don't attract much attention.

Thanks, my fellow Michigander. (I grew up there)

Don't autox. Someday, maybe. I like the Kyokugens, but man, 60 bucks! That's a lotta porn.

Check eBay. I got mine for $40 I believe. They are decent little hunks of metal!

Thanks, greenguy. Those 5zigen Fighters you've got are bitchin', too. I had a hard time deciding between them and the OZs. I basically flipped a coin and would have been happy either way.

i like the wheels, but kinda look a tad small.. maybe 16's would have looked better. didn't you have the sub zeroes or adr's before? i kinda liked those better.

Wow. I got a half-dozen compliments before somebody said they were too small! That's gotta be a record here on ephatch.com. :D

A couple things: 16s *would* have looked better, but they weigh more, cost more, and have more mass toward their outer diameter, hurting acceleration and braking. Second, I haven't even had my car three weeks. The only other wheels I've had are OEM and they DO NOT look better. Besides, it's not all about looks. :D

Nice wheels. I'm saving up for the the 17". I love OZ Racing.

That's probably one of the better looking 15" wheel/tire/drop setups I've seen. I think it's appealing because the OZ's look somewhat OEM at that size. They look a bit like the newer multi spoke Honda 15's...but better. After driving with 17's for awhile and going back to 15's, the ride is just so much more appealing. I'd definitely consider stealing your setup if I get another set of wheels for my EP. :p

I disagree. There are tires with different trade-offs. E.g., higher performance, but with more noise. I didn't want that. But, the ContiExtreme Contacts are an extremely balanced tire: they have very good wet and dry performance and a still very quiet. I didn't want an extreme performance tire that I never get the benefits of that constantly gave me a headache and wore out in 10,000 miles.

You have my permission. ;) The EP is European; it deserves European wheels. I think the Superleggeras match the car's styling really well.

I like 'em a lot, but just think that they would look a little better in a bigger size. But then again, I do realize that a larger size has its drawbacks.

actually, you'd be better off buying a set of spline drive lugs in chrome. They come with wheel locks that are wieght matched to the regular lugs.

it's a lot of $$$, but it's worth it to pay for good stuff.

I personally am not a fan of the koyokugen lugs. their key seems to strip out easily among friends who've used them. They are lighter than the mcgards, but not by much. The mcgards are about 1/2 the wieght of a regular lug.

Yeah, I did a little research on them and they're cool. I'm sold. If I can find a set locally, I'll put them on this weekend.

Did you notice the rear tires extend to the edge of the fenders? If I went any lower, they would rub, unless I cranked down the camber.
