What would it take to beat a stock S2000? I dont want to hear about any engine swaps. I'm going towards a K20A3 turbo. Any other methods?

K20A2 swap + some other N/A mods

massive amount of new internals. valves, valve springs, cams, shaft, head, intake mani, all that and maybe close to an s2k. Turbo would help massively of course

its not far off... 240 hp...can be reached by turbo.

than all you need is weight reduction, better rubber, hondata, and your there. =o)

i dont think the term "weight reduction" even begins to describe what ud have to take off a si to make it weigh anything close to an s2k.

Hehe.. irony isn't it?

our K20A3 is really hard to accompish 240hp from 160hp.. Even after turbo'ed, weight reduction will only create more power at wheel..

And not much aftermarket N/A mod for internal modding for K20A3

So turbo with high psi 'OR' K20A2 swap with N/A mods.. he said turbo.. so I said swap :D

Any one Think turbo+quality cams+Type-R manifold+reprogrammed chip and of course I\H\E could be close to 240? That my future set-up. Give me time, like three years. If that combo doesn't reach 240 Im swappin for sure.

I thought Rev-Hard and Cybernation were getting at least 260 whp with the A3

cam + turbo can't adds up together. You either go one route (NA) or the other (FI). (that's same with exhuast header & intake... turbo sub all of those) Beside we have to wait for a aftermarket cam for K20A3...

First, turbo will make more than enough hp.
Second, nitrous 75 direct port.
Third, add at minimum a set of motor mount bushings, good clutch, and tires. That's just my 2 cents good luck.

I have my goal then. thanks. My first idea is to buy JE Pistons to re-enforce the block. You can put aggressive cams on with a turbo.

I recently saw a mag. article where a S2000 only dynoed just over 200 hp to the wheels. Just put on the normal bolt-on's and a 75 shot of juice.

that alone wouldn't be enough. the S2K would have superior traction off the line w/ RWD and the 9K redline will own in third gear, nitrous or not.

A stock S2000 only runs low-mid 14s. That's not hard to beat guys c'mon. Depending on the driver, and the low torque of the S2000 motor, I mostly see them run mid-high 14s at the track. Only a select few modded ones will run low 13s all motor. My old ass 91 Prelude ran 14.6 with only i/h/e and a 65 shot of n2o. If done right it won't take much to break into the mid-low 14s with the EPs.

looks are deceiving. Also an Si is a hard top opposed to a convertible.

S2000 is 53 pounds heavier, based on Honda's calculations.
My ep weighed 2650 w/o driver, not 2744 like Honda says.
The scale at E-town is "supposed" to be dead on.

Hey Adam,
Did you weigh it at a truck stop on some cat-scales? Also, how much gas did you have in the car?

Weighed it on the scale at Englishtown Raceway Park.
I always go to the track on a 1/4 tank w/ spare & jack removed.
