I need help! I'm stuck deciding between a 205/45 or a 215/40.
I see that some of the people on here run a 215/45, but it has too much sidewall fo my liking. The 205/45 is as close to the stock size in a 17 inch. The 215/40 is wider and will fit the 7.5 inch rims better, but is .441 of an inch smaller? The 205/45 isn't as common a size as the 215/40. I have a major dilemma!! I have a set of beautiful rims at home just siting there, but no tires. Please help me decide.

P.S. I'm sorry if this has already been discused.

Most guys (like myself) run 215/45's due to safety --- closer to the stock tires load rating than 215/40's.

Out of the two 205/45's is safer.

But if you don't care, get the 215/40's. IMHO, I think the 215/40's will be quicker due the smaller diameter and there is that bling factor.

i agree. i went with 215/45/17 , nice and comfortable. perfect size imo
but out of those two choices. i would go with 205/45/17

Those are some good points. I think the 215/45 sidewall is to tall of my liking. Plus, i have GC's to make up the fender gap difference. I have been leaning toward the Yokohama Parada spec-2. Thanks for your imput.
