has anybody tried this????

09-15-2003, 09:27 AM
i wouldnt do it youself if you dont have proper tools or what not. just pay professional to do it :D

Don't do it!!! Let the pros do it.. DIY would end up costing you more money and more bubbles in the tint... ;)

This is one of the few things I really wouldn't try to do myself. Bad tint jobs look terrible.

Pricewise, it should be between 85-110 and no more. ;)

Yup I felt the same way for my tint on my old 4dr. Price varies depending on the quality of the paper you have them use.I got the metallic/titanium paper it is worth it IMO as it never fades or bubbles.

I had the car for about 8 years and the tint held up better than my bodykit. :\
I paid $275.00 for the tint job on the sedan and i am planning on getting the ep tinted soon too :D

tint are awesome. One of the best investments. protects your dash and interior AND keeps out heat. great for summer.

I used to do tint, and I am sending mine out. too much hassle if you don't have the setup. now they cut tint on a computer plotter, like vinyl stickers. no more trimming and sliding the tint down the glass for the edge gaps. and the back glass looks like it would be a bitch.

Take it from numerous people everywhere, the DIY never works out, and you end up going to get it done anyways. I bet since its winter you can find someone to do it for like $20 a window.

i wouldnt try it. you could get the whole car tinted for around $100

definitely dont do it yourself! i got mine done straight limo all around... and it is so dark you cant see in it. and it was 90 bucks... also not the cheap film either. just look around, ask some people is all i did... and my friend hooked up me. you might also wanna research the tint people to see if they do a good job, cuz some professionals will do a crappy job.

i think it kinda depends where you live for how much the cost is. here in VA tint from reputable shops is around $175-$250.

down in florida, where so many people have windows tinted, the price is a lot more appealing, but up here, the laws suck, and everyone drives an SUV or minivan where it comes tinted from the factory.

And the fronts....? ;)

the fronts have some minor glitches that no one notices but me

My tint job cost me like $220. Its illegal as crap. 5% all around, 6 inch strip of 5% on the front then the rest of the front is in 35%.
