well im back. i was gonna buy one last year but the markup was insane. for some reason i bought a jetta 1.8t. its a damn nice car and faster than about every ep minus the turbo guys...but damn do the german cars break:( VWs have too many problmes so im coming over here for good. i wanna know what to offer. an SI didnt used to run you more than 16500 if you knew what you were doing even remotely at the dealer but that was 99-00. what about now???? i love my current car(chipped i spike 20psi) but its not worth the problems. cant wait to get it all back to stock so i can trade it in....

We picked ours up for 15500 with 1.9% in Austin, TX.

They are running a special (on their site) of $16,990, but you can probaly get it cheaper.

Here is their address (if you are interested)

Patience will pay off. Once the 2004's ar eon the lot, you will be able to get the 2003 for less. All the rice boys there will drool over the ground effects and will nag their mom and dad to buy them the 2004. You should be able to get 2003 for $15K or less by then. I think the biggest of your worries is the trade in on the 1.8T. I don't know how much downpayment you have put on the 1.8T. A 2002 Jetta GLS 1.8T with no options, 12000 miles has trade in value of $13,500.

The EP's are not problem free like Civics used to be. do a search on problems people have with the Si's

Good luck

CivicRacer....what kind of problems are you having with your Jetta...

My girl is leasing a 2000 Beetle and he lease is up next june. She wants to buy a Jetta 1.8T GLX....but I don't want her to cuz I hear too many bad things and how the VW quality no longer exists.

Id like to hear what all went wrong with yours.

ok, problems with jettas. go to vwvortex.com and youll see. heres the big ones....maybe even myvwlemon.com

1) your windows will fall in the door and not come back up again(broken regulator clips)

2) your coilpacks will blow 1 by 1 leaving your engine to run on 3 cylinders till its fixed...

3) your 2nd gear will grind.....alot.

4) your mass air flow sensor will go..

5) your diverter valve will go....

seriously check myvwlemon.com. youll see all the problems. i doubt eps have that many problems.
