I have to admit, I've never liked those things on cars in the past. In fact in California the only people that put those on their cars are old people that smoke, red-necks & cars that have out-of-state plates. I asked a guy that I worked with once before, he was from New Jersey and I asked him why he had those on his 4Runner, I never knew what they were for... He stated they are called smoker-vents, so that you can smoke in your car when it raining & still vent the smoke out of your car, without getting the interior wet.

I was like ooHHH ok then....

I probably wouldn't rock those babies out here in Cali, but I have to say it looks pretty desent on your Ep3.... Also I'm really liking your crib, looks really contemporary... Something like that in Cali would go for $600-800K all day long.

In Asia, most cars have these. Reason being most asian guys smoke and they want to smoke even when the weather is bad.

Hey Civictec1ps- looks great on your car. :) I still have mine sittin' in da back seat waiting to be installed but wanted to wait until after Isabella passed by my area.

BTW- I'm not a guy- I'm a gal. ;) Glad you like 'em. I thought about the JM $160 ones myself... but damn... I'll invest that on other mods.

Has anybody painted their vent shades to match the color of their car?

I agree with Civictec1ps, the shades will look good on any color car- even if u have the blue tint on the windows. You attach them to the black plastic molding on the door anyway.

RockEP_SS**:Weather-tech ones are more expensive. $89.99 + shipping from RedlineMax. These are "Vent-Shades" but they definately do the job. Wasn't sure if they'd look good on the Blue... but I likes it! ;)

Master7: PM me if interested.

i had them on my 01 coupe and LOVED them.
their main purpose is so youre able to vent fresh air in to the car on those days when the temperature is just right but its raining, so instead of usint the HVAC system, you crack the windows. it gets rid of the stale air and they are effective even in a down pour, the only time water really get in is when its windy and the rain is hittin from the sides.

also, its nice in the cooler times of year when you have the heat onand it gets a little too hot inside, instead of turnin down the fan/temp, you can vent the windows and the hot air rises out the windows and gives a nice mix of warm and cool air(you can also do this on dry days/nights with the moonroof open)

anyway, i cant understand why they would be UN-fashihonable, usually you have to look for them to notice them.

just my opinion though

btw, i plan to get them for my new Si
