since im dying for an exhaust, and I dont have the money, i decided i'd loosen the bolts on my axleback section of the exhaust to get some kinda noise.

what size tools do i need? also, are there any permanent ill side effects from doing this?

thanks ! :*

you will need to jack your car up and you will need i believe a 12mm or a 14 mm socket and a wrench.. WD-40 helps a lot with those dry exhaust hangers too:) shouldnt take more then 20 mins. it was loud but only at WOT..

um dont u just put muffler in hangers then i would put some high temp lubricant or sealer so it doesnt rust ne more. then bolt back on

Why don't ya just save up and get a mid-pipe. Mine makes enough sound for me and I get to keep the stock look.

damn trippz i would say just hit the hangers with a shot of wd-40 then maybe hit with a hammer(not sure if safe) but no lubricant is not required but if u put back on to help not rust as much i would go get some like lubricant i mean like the stuff u use on a block to not make it seize i have stuff called anti-seize. or something like a sealer.

just take the whole muffelr off. figured i'd walk u thru cuz i'm bored, i took mine off right now for shits and giggles. take off the rear tire and jack up the car. take off the rubber hangers. i found that removing the lower hook from the muffler was easier than removing the upper hook from the car body. (maybe it's just me.) use some wd-40 or wedge it out with a screwdriver if u have to. unbolt the muffler from the resonator and ur all set. it vibrates a little but i guess it sounds a little better than stock.:D

just put a spoon N1 rear section on the other night in the dark..take the rear wheel off it makes it alot easier...WD40 works great for those hangers..slides right off..took me like 30 mins...12mm for the exhaust bolts

Use a 12 mm to get bolts out, then take WD-40 to rubber hangers and pull like a mofo. I did this on thursday. I have a 2 in midpipe and damn did it sound awesome as hell, kinda like a TRD offroad exhaust for a GTS

wd 40 or any lube will work try also to use a large screwdriver on those rubber hangers. brace against body and put the shaft on the rubber and pry. What up kicker si rims look nice! ;)

i asked my dad to help me after spending about an hour trying to pry it out. he got it done in 5 minutes.

it sounds crazy, if i drive normally it sounds like a normal catback, if i go WOT it sounds like all hell is brekaing loose

Oh my... To get the same effect, I'll just wait until my exhaust rusts out. Happened years ago on my '86 Si, and it kicked ass for the three days it took for Midas to get a replacement. After that, I was happy to hear my stereo clearly again.
