After one week of owning my car, I got a couple of scratches when some retards tried to install my deck. Ever since then, I've been thinking about painting it. 1 year later I finally got around to doing it.
I used spray paint for model cars because of the quality of paint and the smoothness of the finish. I went for a stock like finish and achived it by spraying about 7 light coats from about 1 foot away.
Paint used - Tamiya Spray can
Color - Light gunmetal
Result - Paint came out smooth and the color contains a lot of metal flake therefore producing a much more contrast and a nice metallic look.

EDIT. Top pic is before and bottom pic is after

Here's a picture taken at night. You can see how much more reflective it is.

nice.
if i every get around to it, i'm going to paint mine DARK gunmetal.
why Honda chose to have one small part of the dash a completely different color is beyond me.
it looks SO out of place.

How many cans of Tamiya spray did you use? Did you sand/primer too? Just curious bc I can get Tamiya spray cans cheap, I work in a hobby shop :D

I only needed one can and I still have some left. I didn't use primer, just sanded it down and painted it.

I want to do this! Does any one know how to remove the vents in the center console? Also does any one know how to remove the lock switch and the door lever?

When you take a part the Center console you'll see screws holding in the vents. Same with the door. Just take it a part and it's pretty easy to figure it out.

That looks better than stock. I might try this. I think I'd go regular gunmetal. awesome job, very innovative.

Looks sweet, but what is the red switch to left of your shifter? My US model has the 4-way flasher switch there & a blank hole, with silver cover where your 4-way flasher is located.

Edit: that switch is the starter button from a s2000. he just put it in there himself
