How to tell if the tweeters are working?

I have no reason to believe the tweeters are not working but I want to know for sure. How can you tell?

put your ear up to it and maybe turn the bass down all the way if you're still not sure. it should be only highs you hear. you should be able to hear it playing.

I don't know why I didn't think of that. I usually listen to the radio or CD when I'm driving so I couldn't put my ears to the tweeters.
