View Full Version : Would anyone be interested in a group buy for a set of aluminum/machined pedals?

First, mods, feel free to move/delete this if it breaks any rules. (PM me if you delete it, though, please ;) )

There's a guy on eBay who is selling a set of CNC Machined aluminum
pedals that fit most Hondas. They are a tad 'ricey' for my tastes
(they include an 'H', 'Si', 'VTEC' or 'NOS' logo) but I'm really
starting to miss the stock pedals that were in my old wrx. I hate
all the pedals I see at Autozone/Pepboys and none of the glow-in-the-dark
stuff excites me in the least. I also don't want to spend the $100+
for a good set (Mugen?).

Anyway, this guy sells them for ~$62. I emailed him about a group
buy price and he said he could do $49 shipped (with your choice of
logo...I wonder if we can get some w/out the logo) if we get 10
people to go in on it.
The pedals are mounted with screws and not just clip ons. Here is
a pic:

It looks like he's got more info on his site, www.racepedals.com.
Anyone else interested?

they actually dont look half bad.. but for about a similar price, you can get the sparco grip pedals.. they are sweet.

hatch boi - can you link/post a pic of the sparcos?

Here's another pic of these pedals installed. (I'm not sure how
long the bandwidth will last and digitalpose.com is down right
now.)

BTW, these replace the stock rubber pieces and all the hardware you
need to install them is included. I think I'll probably end up
getting them regardless...

I'd be interested in them, not with the Honda logo though, maybe the Si one....

Is it possible for them to come in a matte or brushed aluminum finish?

You would choose whatever logo you wanted. Not sure about the different
finishes, but I can ask.

...thats not our car. THe MAIN thing about pedals for me is that the deal pedal needs to match AND fit.

True. I'm thinking the pedals will fit just fine, but the dead pedal
will be a little off. I'll see if he feels like making a new dead
pedal that would fit. Could someone get me measurements on the
size of the dead pedal (I don't have my car with me right now)?

I'd be in for a GB. If the dead pedal fit perfect of course. And I'd only get the 'Si' if it matched the 'Si' on the EP3...otherwise I like how the 'H' looks.

I'd be in for a set, but I'd really want to stress to the seller that they would install w/o modification. I don't want to have to machine these to fit :P

PM me if the GB gets together, but you can count me in (@ $49 shipped)

I like those Sparcos, but from what I'm reading, they require modification
(like drilling into your stock pedals) and they don't include a
dead pedal, either.

I asked about different finishes and they said they could do a matte
finish (a glass beaded process) but that it would be an extra $20 and
in their opinion, would not wear as well.

Also, they are looking into the matching of the dead pedal. I'm going
to try to get him a measurement (if no one else can measure it for
me) this weekend.

If you plan on starting a groupbuy, you will need to register as a vendor. PM me for more info.

Just an FYI for all interested....

I used to have these on my 97 EX (the ones with the "H"). They do require that you drill holes into your stock pedals for the screws (included). Also, be advised that they can get EXTREMELY slippery on wet days and/or snowy days. There were times in the winter were once they were wet my foot would occasionaly slide off while braking, accelerating and pushing down the clutch. They definitely did look nice as I received numerous compliments at shows. On the other hand, I would rather have the security of pedals that don't slip out from under my feet.

why didnt you just buy some tape or something?

I agree yours are better they kinda have the same look as the mugen pedals and I like the dead pedal. I have the sparco grip and although they look good there really cheap metal and the black grip things fall off. Also the way they line up with the pedals I coundnt get the brake pedal on straight from the pictures I've seen I'm not the only one.

Not yet. I didn't get the chance to measure the stock pedals while
I was home this weekend - does someone feel like doing that for me?
I figured I'd pass the width/height of the pedals on to the guy that
makes these and see what he could do about the dead pedal (there seemed
to be some concern over that). Then, we can do a 'recount' and see
how many are still in.
