When I went to go buy my Ep3 one of the mechanics said that they could put the head of a TSX on the Block of the K20A3 is that true or was he B. S. ing?

I would think the block of the TSX with our head would be a better choice, is that what they meant ?, dont' see how the head would help much, you'd be better off with the RSX-S head than the TSX, but the TSX block should work nicely, its 2.4 L I believe ?

i was under the impression that the TSX head was the exact same as the rsx-s head.

of coz not.. one is 2.0L and one is 2.4L. Anyway, our engine can swap most of the K2* head like CRV, TSX, RSX-S, etc etc..

the head of an engine has nothing to do with the displacement.

Exactly. Remember Bore x Stroke = displacement. It would not surprise me if the TSX and the RSX-S use the same head.

Yea, TSX head=RSX-S head. But cams?

castings "seem" to be the same but the ARE different PN's and cams are different.

FYI

Not trying to be a smart ass but i think the formula is actually
bore x bore x stroke x # of cylinders x .7854 = displacement

what im thinking of ending on doing is to sell my motor when it hits 36,ooo miles for 4 grand and then pay 6 grand for the k20 type r so its ending up to be 2 grand for a type r engine hmmmm not bad:D aslo run with toda cams toda valve springs a aem intake and hp header hks exhuast and run a very beutiful estimated 13.0--13. 7 depending on what tiress i run slicks/azenis/stocks at 24psi. what yall think

prracer, you're killing us w/ the caps lock. please ease off the use of caps.

but you do bring up a good point. the CR-V/Element block would be a cheaper alternative and has shown that it responds well to mods.. although i think the TSX K24 would be able to handle a higher compression and revs.

well i guess you right their i guess it all depends on your taste if you a guy who like to be blown or not the tsx is good if you aint planning on a turbo i think the crv would be better for a turbo planned car...only thing that sucks is you need the motor mount from hasport cause they is some clearance issues with the motor
