I've noticed over the last few days that when I'm working through 2nd and 3rd I can go past 7K BEFORE pushing in the clutch and I'm not hitting any kind of limiter or fuel cutoff. Does that sound right? I thought fuel cutoff was at 6800.

your tach is off like a lot of EPs. i take mine to 7300RPMs but its actually 6800RPMs. so just put it in nutral and rev it up untill u hit a limiter and that is 6800. Later.

No shit? That's fucking ghey. I've been leaving some revs on the table then.

Ghey indeed. That extra couple hundred rpm's really help, especially with my 4-1 header...

I hit the rev limiter the first time I drove the car because it was still running smooth right up to that point. all it does is cut the gas, you pop it in the next gear and keep going.. just feels a little weird, but I'd suggest you gry it at least once just so you know exactly where it's at and how it feels when you hit it.

Seems like mine goes a little higher in second than it does in first, does that seem right to anyone?

you can usually tell when your going to hit the limiter cause your car will start pulling alittle harder for like a second, then BAM! So, I try and ride out that lil extra push for .8 seconds then shift. works like a charm!

hehe... try downshifting from 3rd to 2nd while thinking you're going from 5th to 4th on the freeway... it goes WAAAAAAAY in the red... i swear it was closer to 8. i dare not try it again.

Hitting the Rev limiter sounds bad..

the first time i hit mine, i thought my transmission was gonna fall outta the car -- thats how bad it sounds. it definitely wasn't as loud in my eg coupe. i'm thinking about going hondata as well sometime soon...

hehehe. if you downshift into the wrong gear, please shift out of gear as quickly as possible.

I don't understand what you mean when you say it sounds bad? mine just seems like the engine shuts off for a second, then you just shift and you're cruising again.. you get pushed forward a little because suddenly you're not accellerating anymore, but that's it.

as far as it being bad.. I'm no expert, but I don't think it would be half as bad as getting hondata and pushing past it.

i dunno man, it almost sounds like grinding gears to me, but a little bit louder. all i know is i don't like it, and i try to do it as little as possible. :)

ya if u wanna tr practicing this.. kno ur limiter.. then accelarate till u hit it. as soon as it cuts out, shift. if ur really good (like me) ull have it in gear as soon as the fuel comes back on.. so its like a shifting assist. u dont even have to move ur gas foot..
