Has anybody tried these bulbs on their EP? Got pics for me to see? They're suppose to be the brightest DOT legal lights allowed that aren't HIDs...inputs would be welcomed :)

I've had mine since March and they are still running strong. They are really a nice upgrade over the stock ones due to the higher light output. Roads are better illuminated and the light seems to reach farther down the road. I just bought some for my fiance's Jetta and they were $38 dollars. You may pay alittle bit more, but at least you don't have to worry about burning up a wiring harness(which is what I'm going through now on the Jetta, due to some el cheapo APC bulbs, gotta buy a whole headlight).

i've had them on my car for about four months now and i like them a lot. the light intensity isn't like HID, but the light color is. for the cost of $40 bucks...it's great if you wanna get rid of that nasty yellow color.

i dunno headlight life varies. some poeople say theyll last forever, and some people say they last along time. this is why i refuse to buy expenisve bulbs. you knever know whats gonna happen. i say, buying 4 sets of 20 dollar lights will last longer than 1 set of 80 dollar lights.

output isnt THAT bad on any light so for ME..its oaky =o)

i've had them since march or so. they're pretty bright and a good deal if you can find them for under $50. the stock lamps just plain sucked. i think these with some decent foglights would make a nice night driving package (on the cheap).

I was gunna get these... Then i was gunna get PIAA Ultra Plasma GT's or whatever, but those were too spendy... I ended up just deciding to save up for wheels... :D

Thanks for the info and pics. I don't really care for the bluish bling, I want bright light output. I guess I'll just have to pick up a pair and try'em to know ;)

What ones do we need for our car? Like is there a special number or what?

Hey Si Hatch where'd you order the PIAA's? I need a pair for my car, the HIDs make the regular bulbs there look hella yellow. Those look really bright ass white :)

I ordered the PIAA's from NOPI.com, their prices were just as good as anyone else's. I had PIAA all around even the main headlight bulbs(Super Plasma GT's or something like that), and they looked really nice, I liked them alot, but they burned out after about 2 months, so I got the Silverstars.

I've had my silverstars for a little more than a year now and they work just fine, one thing I've noticed is that they don't really put out more lumens (i.e. light) they just have a higher kelvin rating which makes them look cleaner and crisper giving it that white color and not a dingy yellow. Oh and apc bulbs suck btw.

i have the silverstars. but i only bought 2 lamps. for the little bulb above the big headlight, do i need to buy 2 more of the same bulbs?? is that the lo part of the hi/lo beams?

Those little bulbs are just the parkinglights, they don't even really cast any light on the road. If you want to replace them with whiter PIAA-type bulbs or LEDs they are 168 or 194 wedge bulbs, both numbers work. They are just little 5watt bulbs, and they do look hella yellow next to any aftermarket headlight, even a little next to stock headlights.

I've played around with these lights a lot, I tried PIAA and JamStrait LEDs but they are too dim b/c an LED doesn't get the benefit of the reflector like a bulb.

Here's a DIY-ish trick, I found out that 921 wedge bulbs just barely fit in there, buy some sylvania ones at the auto parts store if you want, they are 16watts and a hell of a lot brighter than the stock 5watters. Still yellow next to silverstars but most parking lights are amber and supposed to be yellow. If I had a digicam I'd post a pic, but they're only like 2.99 for a pair so try 'em out if you want. hth
