View Full Version : Faster than an EP3???

Anybody know anything about these cars? I believe they're sold as the Vitz (or Yaris?) in Japan, where they race them, and there's a good aftermarket for them. Now Canada gets them as the Echo Hatchback. What can you do to these (turbo, etc.)? Once modded are they a threat to an EP3 on the road?

Ah, the Vitz. I use them a lot in Gran Turismo 3. Fun li'l cars. They look like a mixup between an EP3, Matrix, and a Impreza Wagon.

Most cars on the road are crappy minivans, Dodge Neons, and Chevy Cavaliers. I don't know about you, but I have no trouble stomping on them.

That car kicks a$$ on Gran Turismo 3. At least from Grand T3...you can throw a turbo on them and it tops out at like 350- maybe 400hp.

It's a fun little car...I think mod for mod the EP3 would get her.
I personally wouldn't buy one.

I think the suv craze is over....its about HIGHLY TUNED imports these days.

I don't care about competition, I'm just pleased to see more hatchbacks over here(sort of). I'd like to see some Renaults and Peugeots. They should just put hatchbacks on TV and tell people they need them. That usually works in this country. Target the stupid!

Cavaliers are a joke....why are they on the road...THEY ARE EVERYWHERE! It's even more of a joke that they make a z24 caviler.

the Vitz/Jazz/Echo is an awesome car! has anyone seen the supercharged Vitz from the Yashio factory? it was the pink car in the last issue of Super Street. also, you can find the same car in it's orginal blue color on one of the Best Motoring videos. all the drivers seemed to love this car and said it was a lot of fun to drive! however, it was not as fast as some of the other cars they were testing.

LOL, I had an identical 2000 in green about 11 years ago, that was a fun car. Also had a 69 Alfa Syder for a while till the timing chain broke :mad: Nice colletion Bob :)

You bet I miss the spyder but being 20 years old at the time, in the military and making next to nothing really sucks when it comes to cars. I know what you mean about the friends and co workers part. My GF thinks I need to be in a mental institution :D Since you're a big Alfa guy, I'm sure you've heard of Mike Besic, good guy and he builds some wicked Alfa's, awesome driver too.

the echo/vitz comes with 160 hp from the factory supercharged. the fact the car weights nothing most likely means it will smoke the ep. The more I learn about our cars the less i'm into the performance aspect of it.
