Anybody else notice a humming noise from their CAI? It's probably normal...just wondering.

Anyways, yeah Injen is all I have and once you hit the higher revs it likes to get loud. Just stepping on it makes you sound fast, heh heh I hope that didn't sound too ricer.

I have the Injen CAI (the 'race division') and its good and all, just like any other good CAI...I'd have to garauntee that the AEM fits wayyyyyy better than the Injen. My fit was a huge pain...I had to get a shop to cut back the hole cause it was resting on the metal. Some people have had this problem, some have not. Also in relocating the fuse box I broke the clips....argh. So While I love the CAI, I think it could fit better (for me).

My buddy and I had no problems installing my Injen CAI this past Sunday. Follow this DIY http://www.k-series.com/tech_detail.php?Tech_ID=EP_INJEN_CAI and the Injen instructions and you should be good to go.

Also note, we just used metal sheers to cut/bend the metal back in order to make that hole bigger (a Dremel or drill with proper grinding/cutting bits would have been better probably) and we removed the battery for more working room like the above DIY recommends.

IS it hella bad if it rest on the metal?

In my first reply I was just giving my opinions on the intake, because as someone else had posted it's perfectly normal to have the humming noise. Just to clarify that :D Srry for the confusion.

Moving on, you really shouldnt have it resting against the metal. In my case, the dude I bought my intake from had put silicone on the tube so that it wouldn't wear away at the intake itself. If you don't cut the metal though, the tube will rub against the metal and this could eventually eat a whole into your intake. You ever tried drinking through a straw that has a whole in the side of it? Yeah that's what you would be doing to you're intake if you don't cut the metal.
