Hi all,

I found out about this a couple months ago. If I have the cruise control main switch on, and hit "resume" while in neutral, the engine races to redline without me stepping on the gas pedal at all.

I've always canceled the "resuming of cruise speed" by either stepping on brakes or hitting cancel on the cruise control before hitting redline because it seemed like the engine would blow :smilem:.

Have you guys experience this too? Is this common on M/T cars with cruise controls?

At how many miles are you allowed to use your cruise control?

No way, I live on CC, keeps me away from tickets. it uses the same setup as using your pedel, spool and cAble baby.

i think you do get better mpg... when i drove my friends ML, it keeps track of MPG, and we got better MPG with C/C on.

have you all ever set the CC on a car while its on a lift? i must amuse easily but that can keep me entertained for hours.

generally cruise gives you better mpg because its smoother, unless you use it on a hilly road, and you can use it as low as 25mph

and i too live by cruise to keep my ass away from tickets

Thats how my friend gets out of tickets. When a cop flips his lights he does that and then tells the cop theres a problem with his throttle body and he's taking it home or to the shop. Its worked for him 3 times.

He sets the cruise control and without touching anythin puts it into neutral. The revs go up by themselves as he pulls over. The cop hears it and my friend proceeds to tell him its a mechanical problem and he can probably make it to his house or shop but hes having trouble. The cop tells him to be careful and do so and lets him go.
