That thing looks freaking sweeet...I would almost be half tempted to leave it unpainted....hehehehe

Where is this place at? I'm sure it's no where near chicago. Why is Chicago a place that basiclly has nobody supplying Import parts.

Yes, the spoilerdepot wing has the LEDs. The install is easy, but the fit isn't great. Still, since it comes painted, it's the easiest and probably cheapest solution. I'm happy with it. See pics in my imagestation album in my sig.

Bobdobb: ur car looks nice d00d! and ya i was gonna get the spoilerdepot wing but then decided to get a whole kit too, so i am gonna paint them all at once. already got the kaminauri front lip and type-r wing, and will be adding either a type-r sides or buddy club and the USDM type-r replica rear lip.

p.s BLUE "gotta love it"

I have the renova spoiler on my car also. It is a great price! I got mine painted for $110.00, so I ended up spending a total of $270.00 for my spoiler, not too shabby. :) I love it!

I have replaced my wing so many times i cant remember...its very easy to do the install..

The oem wing has 4 bolts and 2 snapons on the wing....

You have to take off the break light housing (very easy to do) then unscrew the break light, take off the other 4 bolts with a 10mm and extension...be careful with the snapon clips when removing the OEM wing so you dont snap them taking the wing off..

then your done, place the new wing on bolt it up with 6 bolts this time (since the after market wing does not have the snap ons) screw the breaklgith back into the car, put the housing back over and your done....

I put the single sided sticky stuff on all the edges where they were on the stock one. Around the edges on both front and rear. The little T-Plastic clips... I have no idea what they are for. The threaded bolts with no heads go in the 2 inner most holes on the wing. Thats the one I left off for the power cable.

BlackHatcher
11-08-2003, 01:39 PM
i figured out most of that stuff. The thing i was most curious about was the black plastic T clips.... I had no clue what thoes could possibly be for.... Oh well, thanks for your help guys.

same feeling I had when I got my spoiler. I was like.....wtf.....which bolt thingy go to which. I already did a test fit, it looks nice and flush. Haven't got it painted yet. I'll post pics later. I actually lost some bolts through shipping. Here is what I got left. How many bolts did you guys only use?

we dont need those sticks. no use for us. those sticks are used to mount spoilers that requires new holes. since our spoiler are a direct bolt, we wont need them.

break-down of the sticks. put those sticks in the bolt hole of an aftermarket spoiler, lets say for a 02 honda ex. measure where u want the spoiler to be exactly. take down the sticks, and remove the spoiler. now u will know where to drill new holes on your trunk.

chubbychu
01-08-2004, 07:35 PM
raiyo if you are there...i have my renova sitting in the trunk and i need to know where the included screws go....like the regular bolt's and where those werid washers go and where the headless screws go...

and where to put the strips of insulation... help ppleasEEE!

raiyo
01-08-2004, 08:39 PM
This is what I did. Take out the stock spoiler, and you see two stud bolts sticking out. Place the red "O" bolt (see pic below) in the same location on the replica. Either u drill a hole onto the trunk, in the middle of those two bolt holes, center of the spoiler. Did I lose you? I hope not. If you don't wanna drill a hole, then only screw on one of the red "O" bolt into the hole. Leaving one hole for the wires for the break light. Then use the stock bolts, the ones from the futherest of the center. I did use one of the blue "O" bolts to screw on the other two bolt holes. And finally I used the screw to screw on the red "O" bolt thingy. As for insulation, it wasn't fun. They got cheap and didn't give us some rubbery gasket like what they used on the stock spoiler. I had to cut little pieces (4) and form a [] around the bolt hole. When screwing on the bolts, make sure you do it slowly. You don't want to over screw it and see the other end of the bolt sticking out of the spoiler.

well i seem to be having fitment problems...so i really over turned it. it looks like the fiberglass is being pulled down into the wing. "sigh" anyways....did you use the foam to line the glass? or no? how is fitment? i was hoping for flush but what i got isnt even CLOSE!

One side of the of the spoiler touches the glass, the other side it doesn't. So I turned the bolt on the other side (the one isn't touching the glass) little by little and it touched the glass. The bolt started to go into the spoiler alittle. Not alot to crack anything.

What foam are you talking about? If you're talking about that foam thing that came with the spoiler, the answer is no. The only thing I used the foam for is the bolt holes, so water don't go in.
