advertised prices are not all they're cracked up to be.


I paid 18000 for mine plus tax,tag, title. My friend recently bought his from his father in law who sold it at dealer cost - 16,500, but when everything was totaled up, his price was better than mine by less than 1000 (i paid like 800 bucks more).

so how did the difference go from 1500 in his favor to only 800 in his favor? those pesky hidden charges that dealerships spring on you.

if you paid just a little over 19000 out the door, don't feel bad, b/c that's what they get just about everyone for no matter what the "advertised" price is.

sometimes the advertised price has an asterisk* that says in fine print that its 13,900 with a 4000 thousand dollar down payment. It creates traffic in the showroom that way because most people don't look at the fine print.

Yeah, I'm gonna get really pissed off if these things don't start selling soon and the dealers keep dropping the prices like they have been. I got screwed by a salesman who called and said $16,600 but then balked on that price when I showed up. It's all just tactics to get you in. I ended up paying more and getting the car for $17,500 b/c I had a bitch of a time finding one that had the side airbags on it. Anytime you want something that's not on the lot, they'll make you think that they have to go to Africa to get one for you. The thing that pissed me off the most is that a dealer that dicked me around before called me after I had bought the car from another dealer saying that they were selling the car for $16,000. WTF?! But again, they'd probaby have told me that they needed $18,000 for one with the side airbags. Anyway, I'm rambling. Moral - be happy with the car and try not to worry about what you paid for it. It's already done and there's nothing you can do about it.
