Thats right, just wondering if any of you are approaching 40-60K mabey even any 70K Ep3's out there? I've had my car a year this past Friday. I've put 19,100 miles on her in a years time. I figure I am driving about 1.5K miles a month. Which I've bested my one year record on my previous car '02 Volkswagen Jetta 1.8t by 150 miles this year.

All I've got to say, I think the car is fully broken in. All of the small issues and worries that I had with the car 10K miles back are non-existing with the car today. The notchy & occational grinding 2nd gear, has yet to do such in mabey 10K miles. The oil consuption I had early on hasn't been an issue in 8K miles. And there are no squeaks or rattles to be heared of, also my mpg appears to be a bit better now as well.

Just wanted to see how some of the higher milaged Ep3's were doing, what kind of maint have you had to do, if any?

well here my mileage so far.... I know its alot... i only had it about a year and 4 months now.. and its running great. at first when i got the car it was alright of a ride. but once i past the braking period its smashing time:D it gotten alittle quicker. once i hit the 20k the car performance improved even much more  and now once i hit 40k god damn i just love the power that my car is giving out..

Well if it counts any, I noticed a good difference in power from when I purchased the car @ 4k miles to now @ 9k miles. It sure pulls a lot better in the upper RPMs. Looking forward to reaching the six digit mileage figures with this thing. Let's pray I don't get the K20A swap bug and swap'er out before then.

I've got 23,000 miles and 2nd gear notchiness/grind happens a good bit when the weather is cool (I've had the tranny fluid changed, no effect). I shift through the gears while still parked in my driveway, this helps some but not completely. My rotors were warped all the way around, had the fronts replaced for free but the backs are still giving a little vibration. I have a ton of rattle in the passenger side door area, can't seem to isolate it though. The front end rattles like it's falling apart when you make turns and drive over uneven pavement, and I mean just slightly uneven or simply coarse road. The car is bone stock and I don't drive abusively. All of these problems have pretty much caused me to not buy another honda. I'm sick and tired of problems, 3 new hondas in 3 years, and nothing but issues for me, I've spent alot more time in the service department than my brother and my dad and they both own Chevy's.

I got my EP the last week of July 2002, and I just hit 43,000 miles. The car is still running great, if fact it feels more powerful after all the break in. The only complaints I have are some rattles in the driver side door and the driver side door has a crack in the weather stripping. I still have to add oil every thousand miles, but I think that's because I drive the car pretty hard on a daily basis;)

Other than that, it's been an excellent car!

My car is at 12,800 miles - 2002 and I got her brand new in April. I have averaged about 2,133 miles a month or so.

2 of my tires have nails in them so I can't exceed 60mph right now. = (

10-13-2003, 09:44 AM
I've got 56+k miles on the clock since last june.

All i've had to do are the regularly scheduled fluid changes. No problems with the engine thus far. :D Shifter is smooth, still tight, but SMOOTH. Clutch is doing okay. Compression is good, oil analysis results indicate a clean motor.

So yeah, I love my k20.

and bratkat:

take your car to kauffman tire, they'll fix your tires for free. only catch is they try to tell you your brakes are going or some other shit, but all you have to do is decline, and bam, free nail repair.

24k miles, and everything has been peachy. I did go to the dealership today because my ABS light was on, turned out that my right rear strut was loose (we installed my tein's this weekend) and as a result I have to pay for the ABS sensor that failed, because it was related to my loose strut.

$120 later, here I am with the part due to come in tomorrow.

I have 9500 miles on my car. Bought the ride in April of 2003.

She runs like a champ. Put a 2 inch mid pipe on her...cost me 70 bucks...

She pulls hard from 4500-redline...

Can't wait to get springs and subs.

I'm almost at 37k, will have had the car a year in 2 more weeks. No noticable sounds or prblems so far. I change the oil every 3-5k, give or take a few thousand depending on how i'm driving at the time. I feel that the car has become a little better or it could be that I have become better at driving it who knows.

holy cow, you guys are putting some crazy mileage on your cars. I'm creeping up on 8 months with my EP and have 10.5K miles. i will concur that the A3 seems to pull harder throughout the powerband after 10K miles.

Bought mine new in September of '02 and today I have 8,560 miles! Just had the 10K mile service done Friday (oil change, tire rotation, etc etc) and they also UN-squeaked the clutch by applying graphite (somewhere) and the squeak is gonzo! After picking up the car from the maintenance, it's not 'ticking' anymore and pulls like a MF! No it wasn't low on oil, just made some sort of tick tick tick.

I'm liking the car more and more now. Now, need intake, springs, midpipe, and more!

Just wondering, does a mid-pipe change the sound of the stock exhaust on our car at all? does it sound more deeper, or more raspy. If it doesn't sound too-bad I might think about doing this mod.

I am going to take my car in next week and have the brakes looked at, I don't think they are vibrating yet, i can't really tell because all four tires are bald from Auto-X and rounding on-ramps & off-ramps but will see when I get new rubber if theres still a vibration.

Sorry, too lazy to read back, you wrecked your NBP ep3, and just bought an '02? I surprised a dealer still had '02's around, did you get a killer price on it? Stock for stock does it feel & shift, drive like your old one?

Yeah, I found an 02 sittin in the showroom at a local dealership. I got it for $15,200, its definately got more down low power, but nothin up top, but with only 50 miles on the clock, its what I would expect. The shifter feels much more rigid, and the steering is also more precise.

I've had my EP since 11/18/02 and it's got about 7000 miles on it. The only problem I've had was a faulty seat belt latch causing the SRS light to come on. They replaced the latch and I've had no problems since. I just recently started experiencing the "brake clunk" after it has been parked. I don't notice it in the morning maybe because I back up and brake first. It usually happens when I go to lunch, after it's been sitting for about 6 hours.

Hey all,
I got 43750 miles and still strong. I've ran mobil 1 super syn since 1400 miles and have several other modifications to the motor and suspension (all minor); rims and tires, short ram intake, borla cat back. I bought it with 17 miles on it the second week of july 2002. As a side note, my mom has a 2003 corrolla with 48000 miles since april 2003 with just bosch +4 and a kn drop in filter and that thing has actually improved in ride and power since purchase greatly. I know this is a honda civic site but I hate domestic car companies.
