I saw the other thread that with the 2" you dont lose as much tourqe as with the 2.25"...I need major opinions because i dont wanna make the wrong choice!!! Ive seen that alot of people get the 2.25"...Do you wish you wouldve went with the 2" insted??? Sorry for all the questions i just wanted to make the right choice!!

I have just an intake...Will it make a nice difference in sound with the stock exhuast?

yea, im not sure how the 2 inch feels...but at highway speeds...70+ the 2.25 helps it alot. i doubt it will make THAT big of a deal..but if you wanna walk on the fence than get the 2 in.

I have the 2 inch mid pipe and love it on the highway....the car screams. She's loud but not obnoxious. She pulls very hard from 3500 rpms till redline.

I don't know anybody that has a 2.25 midpipe.

The best combo is supposed to be INJEN cai with a 2 inch midpipe.

there are many peeps with the 2.25 midpipe

injen cai and 2inch midpipe is not the "BEST" combo.
there are a lot of options out there and they all put out about the same numbers.

no matter what we say...its gonna boil down to what you want...more torque or more highend?

First of all....I don't know anybody with a 2.25 midpipe!:D
But I'll make it a little more clear.....I don't know anybody PERSONALLY that has a 2.25 pipe. I know there are guys on this board with 2.25 pipes.:p

So tell us...just what is a best combo....I'm curious. I thought I did my research on this one....but maybe I'm wrong. Please enlighten us....

Thanks.:D

as of yet i have not seen any dyno's for the 2", while the 2 1/4 did prove to give some better #'s over stock...but one thing to think about..chunky brought it up...if you look at the piping on the axle back section..it is NOT 2.25, it is right in the 2" range..might even be exactly 2". he has the 2" midpipe and said he could hardly tell a tq difference..i had the 2.25 and could tell a big tq difference...

You lose torque, get top end from what i gather.

Ok, well I have Injen intake a DC header and the 2.25 midpipe, and the stock muffler. You only loose power if all you have done is the pipe. But if you have the intake header and the pipe you gain.

That sounds like a personal problem.

I'm not trying to correct you....but it's like you lose TONS of power....if you are really anal...then yes you can notice the loss of "TORQUE".

If you are very critical...yes you can notice the difference when you take off from a complete stop. Once you pick up speed is where you notice the gain. Like she said....I'm sure you notice some very excellent gains from I/H/Mid pipe.

Like the other guy said though...the "other" pipe is only 2 inches as well... which is why people with a 2 inch pipe notice no losses in torque.

I put on a universal and 2in. When I got tired of it i put on the oem muffler with 2.25 and gained a tenth in the quarter. Way I see it most manufactures use 2.25 its probably for a reason.

Ok, let me put it this way. If you have a stock SI go with the 2 in. pipe, because there isn't as much airflow going through the car. If you have bolt-on's, go with the 2.25, the air needs more room, but still needs to be compact, any bigger might cause air to get lost in there. If you are running a NA car with a lot of power, go with a 2.5, and if you are running a Supercharger or Turbo, 3 in. pipe is optimum.

This is pretty much a useless argument as it can go back and forth. It all comes down to what modification's you have done to your engine. More air needs more airflow, hence the bigger pipe. One more thing, is it either comes down to whether you want low end torque or top end power. In a front wheel drive, or all imports for that matter, go with the high end power, it is harder to keep a lot of torque down in a Front wheel drive.

ya'al are reading way too much into this mod.
all this does is get rid of the main bottle neck in the stock exhaust.
1/4" difference in piping diameter blowing through the same header, catalytic converter, and muffler is not going to make a difference either way.

btw: if you can notice the difference in hp/tq between a 2.0" and a 2.25" midpipe, then you should quit your dayjob and become the first human dyno.

That about sums this thread up.....just get a bigger mid pipe and it will have an improved performance over the stock midpipe.

The 2.5 mid pipe is on! Very impressed with the gains at interstate speed! Sound with the stock exhuast is impressive also!! Thumbs up on the mid pipe!

The sound is AWSOME!!! How much did the shop charge you?

I think Dollar for Dollar this is about the best mod you can do.

JSIR has done a lot of dyno testing with various I/H/E combo's. He got his best results with a 2.25" CRUSH BENT midpipe. Meaning a 2" midpipe would be ideal. I however, have a 2.25" catback exhaust myself, and love it just the same.
