2 1000watt amps???? what the hell are you going to be pumping?

Anyone ever see a Civic rattle itself to pieces before?

Either you want people to hear you from four zip codes away or you just love to piss off your neighbors.

i won't be able to do much to the car until i get my school loans and damn credit cards paid off, plus, my '89 GMC Jimmy was kind of a bad buy. The dealer f*cked me over, so i'm stuck paying the p.o.s. off and the insurance on that is higher than my car.

2 12" Volfenhaag subs, they are rated at 1000W. I need some hints on tinting though. I had a couple of runs in it and they creased so the tint looks like shit up close. Otherwise it's pretty lippy. I do need to do the door and hatch windows yet too

$6.99 at your local ALCO discount store!;)

Oh yeah, I almost forgot to mention. About a month after i bought it, i have 2 small dents above the rear dr. side window. It appears some pathetic loser decided to vandalize my car by hitting it with the palm of their hand. Plus, hunting season is here!! The only sad part is, when I took my car out recently to see what it cuts out at, i smoked a pheasant at 115 mph. Luckily all it did was roll the pass. fender in a fraction of an inch and broke the amber bumper light. So i went and bought those clear ones. All i have to do yet is straighten that fender out even tho it's not noticeable 5 feet away. pissed me off but i got over it.. i guess those are my 'curse of the new car' marks.

And the next you get a 115 mph blue egg thrown at you!

ROFL, that's great! "115mph blue egg"

what is the RMS rating of Volfenhaag subs?

just because they can hold 1000w doesn't mean you should, my suggestion, weld the rear hatch shut,
2 12's runnin at 1000watts a piece will blow the rear hatch off.

Blue03EP3Si
10-22-2003, 07:16 PM
shiit....i should find out huh? 500w RMS ...there is another 12" rated at 1200w max...i guess i never really looked for the rms...maybe a Sony 800w 2-channel would do fine...

Ok folks, got some more mods:D

A-Spec SRI
SuperStreet fog lights
APC leather shift boot(doesn't look right right now so i'm going to shorten it)
CircleEarth Groundwires(coming soon)
APC SuperWhite headlight bulbs
APC SuperWhite parking lamp bulbs

Still haven't removed the washer nozzle lights, the reason i'm keeping them is because they match my blue neons in the interior and (hopefully) Street Glow Gold Aqua underbody kit(for Christmas).;)

Hey, noticed the Ractive style air filter on your SRI...change it!!!

When your engine bay gets warm, that stupid little plastic metalic button will get sucked right into the throttle body...

Seen it happen...just a heads up.

Blue03EP3Si
12-10-2003, 10:34 PM
really? i guess i didn't really pay any attention to that. Thanx for the heads up, i will put a different one on right away....it's the filter that came with my intake. I guess that's what you get for buying cheap huh? By the way, got the intake off of ebay, the sellers website is A-Spec Products (http://www.aspecproducts.com) .

Are my pics not showing up or what? I don't mean 2 sound like an a$$ or anything, but can't anyone tell from the pics. The rear side windows are all I have tinted right now. I haven't had the time nor the place to tint the rest(rear, doors, and visor) of my windows yet.

hey man, nice car where did you get those lights on the bottom of the car in the front... ive seen them on like celicas that looks pretty badass. How much?

Blue03EP3Si
12-14-2003, 06:43 PM
Hey thanks. They are SuperStreet fog lights. I got them from Advance Auto Parts. They sell them at AutoZone too i believe. I got them on sale for like $25.
They are a tight fit from top to bottom, no cutting tho. Just 2 holes drilled above them for the brackets.
They aren't the farthest shining things, but people keep flashing(high beams, lol) me cause they think they are too bright, but I don't think so.

Ok, i was playin round in the snow the other day, spun out, it killed and got check engine light. Freaked me out. It wouldn't rev above 3 grand. I went home and checked all the fluids...all fine. Well, 24 hours later, the light went off, everythings fine!!!

I took it in for the 10000 mile maintenance and they said everything was great...they didn't even give me crap about my mods...they actually praised them. So, I guess my dealer is pro-aftermarket...lol.

Nice car man get some more pics up!

Blue03EP3Si
02-07-2004, 10:55 AM
iVtec...naww, see, I have been really strapped for cash and i just needed a system. Yes, i DO have a WalMart Roadmaster sub, i DO have a WalMart cheap ass 150w amp, but I ALSO have a really good 12" sub... it's a Volfenhaag. I am going to get another 12" and 2 10"s and 800w amp and a 600w amp.
Ricey? lets not even get started on that topic. Yes, granted washer lights are cheap as hell, but they do look fitting on the car, they do not make it look bad at all. I also have BLUE tint, which is extremely cool. It matches perfectly.
Lets see, what other rice do i have?? an APC shift boot?? hey, it's black leather and the red stitching matches, how can that be rice? B/c it's got the APC name? I suppose my intake is rice too b/c it's an off-brand?!?! Uhmm, diamond plate floor mats...hey, they were cheap and i didn't want carpet mats b/c up in South Dakota, we have quite a bit of wet weather year round, so i didn't want stained carpeted mats.

I mean, for real, I don't have tire flys, or neons sticking out from under the car, or a fart can. Jeesh... starting to sound like clubsi round here.

Oh, and THANX k20Hatch for your comment. I will get more pics as soon as i can get my car washed:'( and the temps raise up:mad: friggin cold here.

IMHO too many subs, 1 10 can rock the piss out these cars, why get 2 10"s and 2 12"s

you want the people to hear you from North Dakota?

I did stereo for 2 years of my life and I admit I lost a lil bit of hearing installing systems like that, take it from me man, Not worth your hearing. Keep it simple. Subs arn't supposed to overpower the music, supposed to be equal with it.

There was a kid once, we installed 3 10" JL audios subs, came back a week later, dude they don't sound as good as they did a week ago. I said Turn your subs off, leave them off for a week, then turn them back on a week later, kids comes in week later, "yeah that did the trick man".

I aint hating but I just hate it when people have like 4 15's with no real front and rear stage sound.

Blue03EP3Si
03-02-2004, 01:46 PM
yeah, i know what you mean...i'd only run one 10 and one twelve constantly, like i do now...the others would be on a selective channel, so i could turn them on and off...ie-for competitions.
__________________________________________________ _____________

Did anyone else have trouble putting their short shifter in?? It says to CAREFULLY pry the cap off?!?! WTF? Are they nuts? That was a bitch to get off, took 15 minutes...I guess that's why they say it's a 20 minute install, cause it took me about 5 to do the rest.

All I can say is the first 20 minutes it was hard to get used to, but now I love it.. seriously a couple of seconds off of my 0-60..maybe i'm just shifting better...
before ss: 8.62 sec
after ss: 6.24 sec
Can't wait till I have the time off and money to make it to the strip, I seriously wanna know what I can officially do. But enough rambling for now.

Custom painted interior is well done from what i see. New shift boot is nice to. If you ever get a short shifter the acordion shift boot just looks uglier when it's engaged in a gear. So props on that one.

I'm not a fan of all those lights or big BOOM BOOM boxes, but if you can pull it off and make it look good more power to you, man.

Tommy Tran
03-04-2004, 09:53 AM
Can someone explain how the hell you take over 2 seconds off of a 0-60 time with a short shifter?!

Yes my compliments on the engine bay as well!
I have not however, seen a painted interior(not done by a paint shop) that I like... anybody thought about getting factory paint to really match and do a good job?!

lol....i think it's b/c i can shift lots faster and plus i'm getting better at speed shifting. last summer, when i got the car i had a slow ass 1/4...high 16's....so i wanna hit the strip this summer and see what i can do. Also, on the interior, the pictures don't do it any justice. It matches a lot better in person, in the pics it's too white of a blue.

hey 1 quick question hwo did you take off the plastic piece that you painted around the guage cluster ?

Blue03EP3Si
05-11-2004, 05:52 PM
just put your hands underneath the top and pull towards you...you should be able to get your fingers in the crack between the clear plastic and the trim. Once the top pops loose, pull from the sides and bottom to prevent breaking the tabs. It should come out pretty easy.

As you all can tell, there is a gap between the fender and the hood, as well as the bumper doesn't fit the nicest with them either...that will be a job later on if i decide to keep the fenders. I will have them sanded and molded together. But what's on my list next will be the rest of the body kit...then forced induction.

Oh and one question. Anyone have a problem installing the header...like anyone break a bolt or anything?? Not that it's a big deal, but I DID break one of the bolts holding the heat shield, but what about header bolts? I was just wondering, because i haven't installed my header yet.

you know what guys, i'd love to lower my car but i can't afford it right now and most of the roads in my town have drainage dips...i was scraping with the factory bumper....so that is another reason why i haven't lowered yet... maybe if i got airbags, but then there is like no track performance... i don't know. you tell me... i really don't want to f up my bumper. some of those roads i can't avoid.
