Whoa! That car in front of me just swerved pretty quickly! Oh shoot! Stopped car on the side of the freeway.

*BRAKE* *ABS Kicks in*

Phew! I stopped in time *screech* (oh crap I'm about to be rear ended) *crash*

DAMMIT! I just got this car! *screech* (oh not again) *crash*

1st car accident. 7 cars involved. One minor injury. I'm sandwiched with two cars that couldn't stop in time behind, and two cars stopped in the slow lane in front.

Shit happens. Time to wait for the accident report.

Thats why I am glad I don't live near any busy freeways with thousands of idiots not paying attention.

How bad is the damage? Doesn't sound too bad since you don't seem THAT pissed off about it.

It happen on the 15S, near Carroll Canyon Road Exit (one exit south of Mira Mesa Boulevard), right against the barrier in the slow lane just after the entrance to the off ramp.

I have no pics cuz I don't have a digicam, but the damage is:

Driver's side front fender (both headlights look fine)
a couple of messed up stock rims
Some moderate rear end damage (spare tire well is all crumpled, bumper is off, and the driver's side rear fender was bashed so it rubbed the tire. I would like to get rid of wheel gap, but not like that).

I think the car will survive, it's mostly body work, but I didn't get a look to see how the gas tank, frame, and rear suspension looked.

Two cars behind me were much worse off, as they beat up their front ends.

Good thing is nothing too crazy happenned with the FedEx truck. A FedEx truck swerved to avoid our five cars in the slow lane, skidded into the middle lanes of the freeway, overcompensated and skidded into a position perpendicular to the flow of traffic. Luckily it's a big car so everyone sees it ahead of time so they all slow down and nobody hits him.

Ah man...so sorry about your car. These crazy SD drivers never watch were they are going. Good luck with the repairs.

Damn, that's just terrible luck. At least with that many people involved, you shoudln't have any trouble with insurance since it obviously wasn't your fault.

With the rear crumpled like that, it MIGHT be totaled.

You may be getting those 1000 miles back on a new EP, though.. ;)
