I think you are talkin' about the one that was just in "Car and Driver" a few months back...

Seems like a crazy car that desperately needs better tires!

BTW, how stupid is it that a "Honda" specific mag features the car AFTER a mainstream car mag like CnD plays with it?

I still think that Honda Tuning has a bit of a hate on for the EP3... :confusem:

That's pretty harsh. They wanted the car before Car and Driver did. I just chose Car and Driver because their circulation is 7 million. BTW, Car and Driver was second, if you remember the car was the cover car for I believe the December issue of Sport Compact Car last year.

Honda Tuning wanted the EP then too, but we did the 2001 Civic Sedan EX with the K20A2 instead. Of course that car also made Car and Driver.

When will people get it through their thick skulls that Porsches WERE NOT MADE TO RACE IN A STRAIGHT LINE.

Okay, just had to get that out.

I know AEM did some wrenching on it, but I'm not sure exactly who it belongs to. I do know it needs some bodywork. :o

Hasport owns both the yellow 2002 Civic Si and the black 2001 Civic EX 4door. We did not have an invitation to the Car and Driver challenge and both AEM and Jackson Racing did have invitations and no cars ready for the event. Soo...since we had a Jackson Supercharger on the Si and an AEM fuel management system on the EX, that is why there is the "Jackson Racing/Hasport Civic Si" and the "AEM/Hasport Civic EX 4door" (in Car and Driver). Hopefully we will rate an invitation of our own next time!
Also, I like the grille on the Civic Si, it is different.

I also like the European Honda grille on the Si -- looks like they just repainted it along with the rest of the car.

Oh, dammit, I left the issue at work, so I can't quote it exactly -- but I liked the opening paragraph, where the writer says that in five years, everyone will have gotten over the B-series.

i believe thats the Type R front bumper, which has the upper grille molded in, i too like it, it almost looks like the Civic Hybrid bumper i had on my 01 EX coupe:cool:

The front bumper cover with it's integral grille (and rear bumper cover) on the Hasport Civic Si is from a european base model civic hatchback. The body kit is a genuine Honda "accessory" kit they sell in europe for the base model hatchback cars. The rear spoiler is a genuine Honda Civic Type-R modified to fit the american hatch. All the parts were purchased from a Honda dealership in England.

I haven't read the article yet but from what I read here 293 WHP with a K24/K20a hybrid and a supercharger, that's umm...kinda sad. :o

Yeah, but 260-something hp from the N/A RSX ain't nothin' to sneeze at.

I think those numbers aren't bad for a new engine. Could someone educate me on what the high & mighty B-series motors were doing within three years of their introduction?

VividDreams
10-27-2003, 06:41 PM
i know what youre getting at, but you have to remember the technology wasnt there so much back when the B series was introduced, although you could look at it in the same way as inflation affects money, and put it into relative terms

Yeah but Porsches are made for the twisties and tight driving. They say the Si is a perfomance car but you're lying to yourself if you really believe that.

I love the ep, but I'm a realist.
