I just got a NEW set of 17" rims and I wanted to put 225/45/17 on them, has anyone else put this size tire on the car?

Anjapower has the 225's on his 16's and has no problems...

yea i have those like Mel said. A few others have 225s on their cars too. As long as you don't have some weird offset you should be fine. No rubbing at all.

My rims are 17x7.5 w/ a 40 offset. I am gonna try the 225/45/17. My rims should get to my house on Friday and then I am gonna order the Yokahama AVS ES100 225/45/17's and then I'll let everyone know how it came out!

I placed my order for the 225/45/17 Yok's and Miles from Tirerack called me up to ask me if I have ever run this size and I said no. He said he would reccommend getting the 215/45/17. He said the 225/45/17 would probably work for stock hight but if you lower the car you might run into a problem with the 225. I play it safe I just got the 215/45/17. The 225/45/17 tires are expensive and I didn't want to expierement with expensive tires.

are you lowered? I'm lowered on Eibach prokits and I have no problem with rubbing. Then again, my lowering is very mild.

I am also going with 17's ... if you are running 16's and are fine add another inch to that ... an inch dosen't sound like alot but that could be the difference between rubbing and clearing ... I just don't want to risk it at this point. The tires are expensive and I don't want to get screwed. Unless someone else has tried these out then im not gonna. I have had many different size rims and tires on all my cars and the 17's with a 225/45 seems a little too much with a drop. :D

It's been said already, but the HFP car for '04 lowers the car, I'm assuming around 1-1.3", and runs 225/45/17 w/ no rubbing. Yes, they did decrease the lock to lock turns, BUT, still, you'll be fine. If Honda does it that probably means there's at least a 1/2" clearance to everything left still. You'll be fine.

edit: I'm not sure of the offset on the HFP rims, but I'm not sure what your +40mm does the the whole situation. You're probably fine.

Im sure they did some extra stuff with the suspension on the HFP Civic and who knows what the offset on the rims are. The guys at tire rack said for the 225/45/17 would be fine on stock hight but would be cutting it close depending on drop and offset on rims. Once we can find out what offset the HFP Civic is running it would be eaiser to get 225/45/17 on the Regular EP3's.

ya nix the 225/45. that will throw off your gearing and speedo. 225/45 is fine with 16s but not with 17s. You will most likely rub, as my 225s are a tight fit.

for a good price on azenis go to www.vulcantire.com
